Book CO2 Pistols Rifles

Download or read book CO2 Pistols Rifles written by James House and published by Krause Publications. This book was released on 2004-01-07 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Current safety trends encourage shooters to opt for guns of less power, especially CO2-powered guns. Several airgun shooters are not required to go through the traditional buying procedures of high-powered pistols and rifles, such as background checks and waiting periods. Plus, companies such as Colt, Smith & Wesson, and Walther manufacture high quality CO2 products that are visually indistinguishable from their traditional firearms. In this new guide to CO2-powered pistols and rifles, James E. House offers a comprehensive history of CO2 guns, dating back to the 1930s, and a discussion of propulsion, pellets, and sights. Beginning shooters are introduced to the market with a complete analysis on performance and accuracy of currently available products. Airgun enthusiasts are reunited with CO2 classics no longer being manufactured. This book also offers additional sections on target shooting, games, and varmints. Offers a comprehensive history of CO2 pistols and rifles dating back to the 1930s Includes a categorical review of BB pistols, .177 caliber pistols, .20 and .22 caliber pistols, and rifles Discover products currently available only on the secondary market

Book Webley Air Pistols

Download or read book Webley Air Pistols written by Gordon Bruce and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite a long history of involvement in the design and production of firearms, the Birmingham firm of Webley & Scott is probably better known to the general public for its manufacture of airguns than for any other product. Until now, there has been no published reference that concentrates exclusively on the history and development of Webley air pistols. This book has been prepared to offer a comprehensive guide for all those interested in the subject and who appreciate the traditional British craftsmanship entailed. It embraces all models based upon the same initial patent, which were produced between the years 1924 and 1999, commencing with the original 'Mark 1' and progressing through twelve other models to the final 'Webley Tempest' introduced more than half a century later. In addition to the pistols themselves, there are sections of the book relating to pellet styles and various shooting accessories produced by the same company. The whole work is divided into twenty-two sections, the text being accompanied throughout with 226 original photographs and over 70 line illustrations, each of which has been prepared by the author.

Book Rimfire Rifles A Buyer s and Shooter s Guide

Download or read book Rimfire Rifles A Buyer s and Shooter s Guide written by Steve Markwith and published by Prepper Press. This book was released on with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to a whole series of useful firearms, beginning with the well-known .22 Long Rifle. The venerable “twenty-two” hosts a wide array of interesting loads, including some ultra-quiet choices and fairly nasty high-speed rounds. Even hotter rimfire calibers include the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, plus three small-bore derivatives: the .17 Mach II, .17 Hornady Rimfire Magnum, and Winchester’s high velocity .17 Super Magnum. Careful shopping can provide us with a useful rimfire (or maybe even two) with which to quietly harvest small game or eliminate pests. An economical .22 LR firearm can also serve as a great high-powered rifle trainer if similar function is considered. In a pinch, it might even work for self-defense. The rimfires can’t do everything, but they can do a lot once fully understood. One trait is easy to overlook until you start shooting. They’re lots of fun! This book will lead the way from beginning to end.

Book Emily Gets Her Gun

Download or read book Emily Gets Her Gun written by Emily Miller and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2013-09-03 with total page 398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the wake of tragic shootings in Newtown and Aurora, the anti-gun lobby has launched a campaign of lies, distortion, misrepresentation, and emotional manipulation that is breathtaking in its vitriol and its denial of basic facts. Their goal is to take away our Second Amendment rights and then disarm law-abiding Americans. Emily Miller tells her personal story of how being a single, female victim of a home invasion drove her to try to obtain a legally registered gun in Washington, D.C. The narrative—sometimes shocking, other times hilarious in its absurdity—gives the reader a real life understanding of how gun-control laws only make it more difficult for honest, law-abiding people to get guns, while violent crime continues to rise. Using facts and newly uncovered research, Miller exposes the schemes politicians on Capitol Hill, in the White House, and around the country are using to deny people their Second Amendment rights. She exposes the myths that gun grabbers and liberal media use to get new laws passed that infringe on our right to keep and bear arms. The gun rights debate isn’t just about firearms. It’s about protecting a fundamental right that is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. It’s about politicians who lie, manipulate, and outright break existing laws to get what they want. It’s about President Obama wanting a bigger federal government to control you. Not just your guns—you. The fight for gun rights is the fight for freedom. Emily Miller says stand up and fight back now because your Second Amendment will only be the first to go.

Excerpt: Paintball is an equipment intensive sport and in order to safely conduct a game, every player requires a marker with propellant to fire the paint, a mask to protect the eyes and face, paintballs, and a loader to hold them. To ensure safety off the playing field, a barrel sock or plug for the marker is also compulsory. Depending on type of play, additional equipment can include gloves, a pack designed to comfortably carry pods containing extra paintballs, and a squeegee or swab for cleaning out the barrel in case a paintball breaks. A paintball marker is the primary piece of equipment used in paintball to tag an opposing player. An expanding gas (usually carbon dioxide or high-pressure air) forces a paintball through the barrel at a muzzle velocity of approximately 300 ft/s (91 m/s). This velocity is sufficient for most paintballs to break upon impact at a distance, but not so fast as to cause tissue damage beyond mild bruising. Nearly every commercial field has, and strictly enforces, a rule limiting the muzzle velocity of a paintball at or below 300 ft/s (91 m/s). The technology used to design and build paintball markers has advanced over time, beginning with the original "Nel-Spot..".
