Download or read book CMMI for Systems Engineering Software Engineering Integrated Product and Process Development and Supplier Sourcing Version 1 1 CMMI SE SW IPPD SS V1 1 Continuous Representation written by and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 723 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI(Service Mark) models have evolved the Capability Maturity Model (CMM(registered)) concept, established by the Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM), to a new level that enables the continued growth and expansion of the CMM concept to multiple disciplines. Like the SW-CMM, EIA/IS 731, IPD-CMM, SA-CMM, and other process improvement models, CMMI models are tools that help organizations improve their processes. This CMMI model is designed to help organizations improve their product and service development, acquisition, and maintenance processes. Concepts covered by this model include systems engineering, software engineering, integrated product and process development, and supplier sourcing as well as traditional CMM concepts such as process management and project management. Each CMMI model is designed to be used in concert with other CMMI models, making it easier for organizations to pursue enterprise-wide process improvement at their own pace. This CMMI model has a continuous representation, which focuses on measuring process improvement using capability levels. Capability levels apply to process-improvement achievement within individual process areas such as configuration management or verification.

Book Product Focused Software Process Improvement

Download or read book Product Focused Software Process Improvement written by Frank Bomarius and published by Springer. This book was released on 2004-03-09 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On behalf of the PROFES organizing committee we are proud to present to you the proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Product Focused Software Process Improvement (PROFES 2004), held in Kansai Science City, Japan. Since 1999, PROFES has established itself as one of the recognized international process improvement conferences. In 2004 the conference left Europe for the first time and moved to Japan. Japan and its neighboring countries are intensifying their efforts to improve software engineering excellence, so it was a logical step to select Japan as the venue for PROFES 2004. The purpose of the conference is to bring to light the most recent findings and results in the area and to stimulate discussion between researchers, experienced professionals, and technology providers. The large number of participants coming from industry confirms that the conference provides a variety of up-to-date topics and tackles industry problems. The main theme of PROFES is professional software process improvement (SPI) motivated by product and service quality needs. SPI is facilitated by software process assessment, software measurement, process modeling, and technology transfer. It has become a practical tool for quality software engineering and management. The conference addresses both the solutions found in practice and the relevant research results from academia. This is reflected in the 41 full papers, which are a balanced mix of academic papers as well as industrial experience reports.

This workshop was held in Siena, Italy, November 4–6, 2003. This workshop was the fifth in the series, with the same subject, software product family engineering. These workshops have been held initially irregularly about every 18 months since 1996. Since 1999 the workshop has been held every second year in the fall. The proceedings of the second, third and fourth workshops were published as Springer LNCS volumes 1429, 1951 and 2290. The workshops were organized within co-operation projects of European industry. The first two were organized by ARES (Esprit IV 20.477) 1995–1999; this project had 3 industrial and 3 academic partners, and studied software architectures for product families. Some of the partners continued in the ITEA project if99005 ESAPS (1999–2001). ITEA is the software development programme (?! 2023) within the European Eureka initiative. ITEA projects last for 2 years, and ESAPS was succeeded by CAFÉ (ITEA if00004) for 2001–2003 and FAMILIES (ITEA if02009). This fifth workshop was initially prepared within CAFÉ and the preparation continued in FAMILIES. As usual Henk Obbink was the workshop chair, and Linda Northrop and Sergio Bandinelli were the co-chairs.

Book A Software Process Model Handbook for Incorporating People s Capabilities

Download or read book A Software Process Model Handbook for Incorporating People s Capabilities written by Silvia T. Acuna and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-06-03 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Software Process Model Handbook for Incorporating People's Capabilities offers the most advanced approach to date, empirically validated at software development organizations. This handbook adds a valuable contribution to the much-needed literature on people-related aspects in software engineering. The primary focus is on the particular challenge of extending software process definitions to more explicitly address people-related considerations. The capability concept is not present nor has it been considered in most software process models. The authors have developed a capabilities-oriented software process model, which has been formalized in UML and implemented as a tool. A Software Process Model Handbook for Incorporating People's Capabilities guides readers through the incorporation of the individual’s capabilities into the software process. Structured to meet the needs of research scientists and graduate-level students in computer science and engineering, this book is also suitable for practitioners in industry.
