Book Close Encounters Beyond Shadows

Download or read book Close Encounters Beyond Shadows written by Lee D. Desormeaux and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-05-20 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A candid collection of true tales of personal encounters and experiences, and the conclusions founded upon them. This work looks at first-hand experience with both the angelic as well as demonic beings, extraterrestrials, and more. During an awakening process into higher realities, these true stories granted some (ongoing) insight into some otherwise not-so-known phenomena, and yet also have been found to be those experiences echoed throughout history, sharing, as it were, a similarity. The secrets of the past, in other words, are alive and well today, and so shall they continue into tomorrow, for those who might look. With logic and common sense attempting to back up the experiences, and put them in a clear light, this book aims to both provide a look into the paranormal as it is, and also give some humour and ease with which these phenomena may be approached. All in all, and as the main message is repeated throughout, it is experience, that is king, and not mere preference.

  • ISBN : 082635369X
  • Pages : 351 pages

Download or read book Beyond the Eagle s Shadow written by Virginia Garrard-Burnett and published by UNM Press. This book was released on 2013-12-15 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dominant tradition in writing about U.S.–Latin American relations during the Cold War views the United States as all-powerful. That perspective, represented in the metaphor “talons of the eagle,” continues to influence much scholarly work down to the present day. The goal of this collection of essays is not to write the United States out of the picture but to explore the ways Latin American governments, groups, companies, organizations, and individuals promoted their own interests and perspectives. The book also challenges the tendency among scholars to see the Cold War as a simple clash of “left” and “right.” In various ways, several essays disassemble those categories and explore the complexities of the Cold War as it was experienced beneath the level of great-power relations.

By rediscovering the true personality of the self-revealed God, we will be able to understand the great mysteries of the universe that have baffled mankind for millennia. Why do the blameless suffer? Why does evil persist in the world? Why do the wicked prosper? Must the chosen people suffer the destiny of martyrdom? And why should Yahweh remain the hidden God?

Book Cooperation and Hegemony in US Latin American Relations

Download or read book Cooperation and Hegemony in US Latin American Relations written by Andrew R. Tillman and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-03-29 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited volume revisits the idea of the Western Hemisphere. First articulated by Arthur P. Whitaker in 1954 but with origins in the earlier work of Herbert E. Bolton, it is the idea that "the peoples of this Hemisphere stand in a special relationship to one another which sets them apart from the rest of the word" (Whitaker, 1954). For most scholars of US-Latin American relations, this is a curious concept. They often conceptualize US-Latin American relations through the prism of realism and interventionism. While this volume does not deny that the United States has often acted as an imperial power in Latin America, it is unique in that it challenges scholars to re-think their preconceived notions of inter-American relations and explores the possibility of a common international society for the Americas, especially in the realm of international relations. Unlike most volumes on US-Latin American relations, the book develops its argument in an interdisciplinary manner, bringing together different approaches from disciplines including international relations, global and diplomatic history, human rights studies, and cultural and intellectual history.

Book Places Beyond Belief

Download or read book Places Beyond Belief written by Michael K. Yen and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2020-08-13 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2017, Michael completed the first book in his planned trilogy, From Physical to Metaphysical in Four Steps and One Giant Leap where he explored how we can separate from our materialistic attachment by seeing past our bodies, our emotions, and our thoughts. After these three "steps," Michael illustrated how by enhancing and refining our life energy, we can take "one giant leap" into metaphysical consciousness. In Places Beyond Belief, he expands on the concepts raised in the first book and also details some of his out-of-body experiences (OBE) that offer direct evidence of how the non-physical envelops our material reality. Michael also tells the story of how encounters in material reality with ghosts, qigong masters, psychics, a "living Buddha," and extraterrestrials prepared him for having OBEs. Building on the events covered in the first book, Michael recounts how in trying to uncover the true nature of his UFO experiences, he turned to using OBEs as a way to find answers about the reality of the beings he encountered. What he found was not what he expected and lead to his discovery of the field of spirit-release therapy and the large body of psychological literature that the subject has produced since William Baldwin’s Spirit Releasement Therapy: A Technique Manual was published in 1995. While disclosing intimately personal experiences to illustrate his points, Michael also takes time to discuss the big issues of the day, highlighting how personal and spiritual development is intricately linked to how well we live in the material world. Coming three years after his first book, Places Beyond Belief follows Michael's journey deeper into the metaphysical world that he was only first discovering when he wrote One Giant Leap. By daring to let direct experience be the guide, Michael went to places beyond belief, and came back to write about it.

Book Uncovering Stranger Things

Download or read book Uncovering Stranger Things written by Kevin J. Wetmore, Jr. and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2018-04-20 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Duffer Brothers' award-winning Stranger Things exploded onto the pop culture scene in 2016. The Netflix original series revels in a nostalgic view of 1980s America while darkly portraying the cynical aspects of the period. This collection of 23 new essays explores how the show reduces, reuses and recycles '80s pop culture--from the films of Spielberg, Carpenter and Hughes to punk and synthwave music to Dungeons & Dragons--and how it shapes our understanding of the decade through distorted memory. Contributors discuss gender and sexual orientation; the politics, psychology and educational policies of the day; and how the ultimate upper-class teen idol of the Reagan era became Stranger Things' middle-aged blue-collar heroine.
