Download or read book Code Clone Analysis written by Katsuro Inoue and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-08-03 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book organized around code clone analysis. To cover the broad studies of code clone analysis, this book selects past research results that are important to the progress of the field and updates them with new results and future directions. The first chapter provides an introduction for readers who are inexperienced in the foundation of code clone analysis, defines clones and related terms, and discusses the classification of clones. The chapters that follow are categorized into three main parts to present 1) major tools for code clone analysis, 2) fundamental topics such as evaluation benchmarks, clone visualization, code clone searches, and code similarities, and 3) applications to actual problems. Each chapter includes a valuable reference list that will help readers to achieve a comprehensive understanding of this diverse field and to catch up with the latest research results. Code clone analysis relies heavily on computer science theories such as pattern matching algorithms, computer language, and software metrics. Consequently, code clone analysis can be applied to a variety of real-world tasks in software development and maintenance such as bug finding and program refactoring. This book will also be useful in designing an effective curriculum that combines theory and application of code clone analysis in university software engineering courses.

Download or read book T Cell Hybridomas written by H.v. Boehmer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than ten years cell fusion techniques have been applied in studies on various lymphocyte functions. Ig expression was first studied in hybrids obtained by fusing myeloma cells with fibroblasts (1) or lymphomas (2), both of which do not produce Ig, and with Ig producing myelomas (3) or human blood lymphocytes (4). Kohler and Milstein (5) fused a myeloma with spleen cells from immunized mice. Up to 10% of the hybrids obtained secreted antibodies specific for the immunizing antigen. This suggested that plasma cells preferenti ally fused with the myeloma cells, a finding which was of enormous practical value. It was found that both Band T lymphocytes could be fused with the T cell tumor BW5147, which is however not permissive for Ig synthesis (6). A very large number of T cell hybridomas were generated by fusing BW5147 with cell populations containing in vivo or in vitro activated cells (7). The hybrids showed no specific T cell functions and binding assays for T cell receptors were not available. In particular, no hybrids were obtained which expreS1ed specific cytolytic activity that could be tested in short-term Cr release assays (8). However, the frustrations expressed about these failures, published in January, 1978 (9), were relieved by Taniguchi and Miller's publication a few months later of T cell hybridomas producing antigen-specific suppressor factors (10). Unfortunately, their hybrids rapidly lost factor production.
Download or read book Aggregating clones colors equations iterates numbers and tiles written by Janos Aczel and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The journal aequationes mathematicae publishes papers in pure and applied mathematics and, in particular, articles on functional equations, combinatorics and dynamical systems. Its 50th volume appears in 1995. To mark this occasion, we are publishing in book form a repre sentative collection of outstanding survey papers assembled for our anniversary issue of aequationes mathematicae. The articles by Quackenbush, Targonski and Moszner discuss composition of functions from different points of view: universal algebra, dynamical systems (iteration) and functional equa tions. The Ono-Robbins-Wahl and the Vince papers, on number theory and tiles, respectively, are thematically linked by lattices. Combinatorics, in turn, links the Vince paper with that of Tutte, whose subject is chromatic sums, its tools differential and functional equations. The Paganoni-Ratz and the Forti papers deal with conditional functional equations and with the related topic of stability. Applications to the social and behavioral sciences, in particular to aggregation (and some theory) are presented in the paper by J. Aczel. The aim of the collection is to survey selected fields of current interest. We trust that it will be useful and informative for researchers, teachers, graduate and advanced undergraduate stu dents of mathematics, and for those interested in applications in related fields. lanDs Aczel Aequationes Mathematicae 50 (1995) 1 0001-9054/95/020001-01 $1.50 + 0.20/0 University of Waterloo © 1995 Birkhiiuser Verlag, Basel Editorial Volume 50 of Aequationes Mathematicae This is the fiftieth volume of aequationes mathematicae. Download or read book Biological Responses in Cancer written by Enrico Mihich and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series of volumes entitled Biological Responses in Cancer provides information on approaches through which the interaction between neoplas tic and normal cells may be modified. Topics discussed in various volumes include immunological and host defense systems, control mechanisms of cell and population growth, cell differentiation, and cell transformation. This volume is specifically concerned with various aspects of cell interactions and regulation within heterogeneous tumor cell populations, and their role in tumor progression and metastasis. Knowledge in this area is likely to provide new leads toward the exploitation of novel cellular sites and mech anisms in the development of new types of therapies of cancer. Several topics are discussed within these general areas of consideration. The possibly unique characteristics and mechanisms of tumor vascularization and the potential sites of interference with angiogenesis that might have therapeutic impli cations are critically evaluated. Tumor cell-normal tissue interactions in volved in different phases of the growth and metastatic processes are dis cussed in two chapters dealing with mechanisms of tumor invasion and with the role of collagen in mammary tumor growth; here again potential leads are identified that may be exploited toward the development of new thera peutic approaches. The evolution of phenotypic diversity as a phenomenon complicating the biology of tumor metastasis and consequently affecting the opportunities offered by chemotherapy is also critically considered.
