Book Transpacific Revolutionaries

Download or read book Transpacific Revolutionaries written by Matthew Rothwell and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-01-17 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book shows how Maoism was globalized during the 1949-1976 period, highlighting the agency of both Latin American and Chinese actors. While Maoism has long been known to have been influential in many social movements and guerrilla groups in Latin America, author Matthew Rothwell is the first to establish the way in which Latin American communists domesticated Maoism to Latin American conditions and turned Maoism into an influential political trend in many countries. By utilizing case studies of the formation of Maoist guerrilla groups and political parties in Mexico, Peru and Bolivia, the book shows how the movement of Chinese communist ideas to Latin America was the product of a highly organized effort that involved formal connections between Latin American activists and the People’s Republic of China. It represents a major contribution to three developing fields of historical inquiry: Latin America in the Cold War, the global 1960s, and Chinese Maoist foreign relations.

Book La presencia de China en el hemisferio occidental

Download or read book La presencia de China en el hemisferio occidental written by Guadalupe Paz and published by Libros del Zorzal. This book was released on 2009 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Two Eagles

  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 477 pages

Download or read book Two Eagles written by Ricardo Sheffield and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-04-19 with total page 477 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the middle of the Sonoran Desert, two eagles meet face to face. One has flown from the north, the other from the south. After a long journey, they confront each other in a vast territory that unites two great countries that, like the eagles, are not as different as they seem. Two hundred years after the beginning of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the United States, Ricardo Sheffield takes a look at the shared history of both nations. He considers questions such as: • What was life like for the Native Americans? • When did some decide to follow an unknown path south, leaving others to stay behind? • What unites the lives of Mexicans with those living in the United States of America? • What have been the moments of greatest tension between the two countries? With a distinctive voice full of irony, humor, and popular sayings, the author traces the history of these two great powers—from their common beginnings with the Clovis culture hunting mammoths to the civil wars of both countries, the promulgation of their respective constitutions, and their struggles to abolish slavery.

Book Economic Corridors in Asia Paradigm of Integration A Reflection for Latin America

This book was released on 2020-08-31 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Global geopolitics has shifted dramatically over the last thirty years. After the vanishing expectations of a unipolar international system led by the United States, China has gained an increasingly dominant role in areas as innovative as quantum computing, robotics and artificial intelligence. In the non-digital dimension, the eastern superpower has made gigantic investments in its Belt and Road Initiative, which include the development of a massive network of highways, industrial centers, harbors, pipelines and bridges, among many other works of infrastructure. These investments allow for the connection of more than 60 countries worldwide, guaranteeing China s energetic security, easier conditions for trading goods and services and, perhaps more importantly, a significant influence in the political and economic events of the world. States with political regimes as diverse as those of Russia and India are part of this growing network; in various cases, in exchange for the benefits associated wi th being part of it, major concessions were made. By way of illustration, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, among others, given their lack of capacity to pay for sorne of the works, have agreed to forfeit control of specific areas of their territories.
