Book La crisis econ mica en Am rica Latina

Download or read book La crisis econ mica en Am rica Latina written by José Luis Machinea and published by Siglo XXI de España Editores. This book was released on 2010 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

  • Pages : 477 pages

Download or read book Two Eagles written by Ricardo Sheffield and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-04-19 with total page 477 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the middle of the Sonoran Desert, two eagles meet face to face. One has flown from the north, the other from the south. After a long journey, they confront each other in a vast territory that unites two great countries that, like the eagles, are not as different as they seem. Two hundred years after the beginning of diplomatic relations between Mexico and the United States, Ricardo Sheffield takes a look at the shared history of both nations. He considers questions such as: • What was life like for the Native Americans? • When did some decide to follow an unknown path south, leaving others to stay behind? • What unites the lives of Mexicans with those living in the United States of America? • What have been the moments of greatest tension between the two countries? With a distinctive voice full of irony, humor, and popular sayings, the author traces the history of these two great powers—from their common beginnings with the Clovis culture hunting mammoths to the civil wars of both countries, the promulgation of their respective constitutions, and their struggles to abolish slavery.

Book Macroeconomics and Development

Download or read book Macroeconomics and Development written by Mario Damill and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2016-03-15 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Latin American neo-structuralism is a cutting-edge, regionally focused economic theory with broad implications for macroeconomics and development economics. Roberto Frenkel has spent five decades developing the theory's core arguments and expanding their application throughout the discipline, revolutionizing our understanding of high inflation and hyperinflation, disinflation programs, and the behavior of foreign exchange markets as well as financial and currency crises in emerging economies. The essays in this collection assess Latin American neo-structuralism's theoretical contributions and viability as the world's economies evolve. The authors discuss Frenkel's work in relation to pricing decisions, inflation and stabilization policy, development and income distribution in Latin America, and macroeconomic policy for economic growth. An entire section focuses on finance and crisis, and the volume concludes with a neo-structuralist analysis of general aspects of economic development. For those seeking a comprehensive introduction to contemporary Latin American economic thought, this collection not only explicates the intricate work of one of its greatest practitioners but also demonstrates its impact on the growth of economics.

Book Overview of rural poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean

Download or read book Overview of rural poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2019-09-12 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Panorama of Rural Poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean 2018, published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), addresses the important challenges faced by the region in developing its rural territories to achieve the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, particularly SDG 1 to end poverty in all its forms everywhere. After many years of progress, poverty and extreme rural poverty in the region have started to increase again. This is worrying news for countries of the region and the international community because, if they do not return to the path of rural poverty reduction, millions of people will be excluded from the opportunity to contribute to the development of their families, communities and countries. The 33 Member States of the United Nations in the region have pledged their commitment to eradicating rural poverty by 2030 and, despite the recent trend, it is still possible to achieve this goal. This report also highlights the persistence of significant gaps between rural and urban areas, which is incompatible with sustainable and equitable development. Of the 169 targets of the Sustainable Development Goals, 132 require actions that must be carried out in rural territories.

Book El Emprendimiento en Am rica Latina

Download or read book El Emprendimiento en Am rica Latina written by Daniel Lederman and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2014-07-01 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Alvin Hansen

Download or read book Alvin Hansen written by Robert J. Bigg and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-11-15 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the academic life of Alvin Hansen and his contribution to modern economics. Through tracing the development of his early work and pre-Keynesian ideas, the influence of Keynes and the 1937-8 recession on the direction of his work is explored, particularly in relation to his theoretical backing of the New Deal and subsequent American policy. The subsequent chapters focus on his later work on secular stagnation, savings and investment, American Keynesianism, managing the post-war mixed economy and the often overlooked contributions to global questions and wider aspects of political economy and public policy. This book aims to highlight the intellectual influence and academic value of Alvin Hansen’s work. It will be relevant to students and researchers interested in economic policy, political economy, and the history of economic thought.
