He frankly stated his objections to Sabbath-schools; but, after a candid reconsideration of them, granted my request, and all his children of proper age, were also permitted to attend. This brought the family more directly into contact with Christian influence, and at length this daughter and four other children, became hopefully pious, and united with the church. He was tenderly attached to his family; and so far as his children exhibited the fruits of the Spirit, their influence upon their father was favorable to evangelical religion.
