Book Boxed Second Coming of Christ

Download or read book Boxed Second Coming of Christ written by Paramahansa Yogananda and published by Self Realization Fellowship. This book was released on 2008-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This attractive two-volume, slip-cased edition of The Second Coming of Christ, presents Paramahansa Yogananda's unique perspective on the real meaning of Jesus' teachings, and takes the reader on a revelatory journey, verse by verse, through the four Gospels. Dispelling centuries old misconceptions and dogma, this monumental work is destined to leave an indelible mark on the way the world views the teachings of Jesus Christ. In titling this work The Second Coming of Christ, I am not referring to a literal return of Jesus to earth. He came two thousand years ago and, after imparting a universal path to God's kingdom, was crucified and resurrected; his reappearance to the masses now is not necessary for the fulfillment of his teachings. What is necessary is for the cosmic wisdom and divine perception of Jesus to speak again through each one's own experience and understanding of the infinite Christ Consciousness that was incarnate in Jesus. That will be his true Second Coming.

John Piper's contemporary classic draws on key biblical texts to demonstrate that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that proper worship fuels missionary outreach. Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. He examines whether Jesus is the only way to salvation and issues a passionate plea for God-centredness in the missionary enterprise, seeking to define the scope of the task and the means for reaching 'all nations'. Let the Nations Be Glad! is a trusted resource for missionaries, pastors, church leaders, youth workers, seminary students, and all who want to connect their labours to God's global purposes. This third edition has been revised and expanded throughout and includes new material on the 'prosperity gospel'.

Book excerpt: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." John 14:3 ESV Jesus Christ was very clear: One day He will return-and none of us knows when. Vocal fanatics claim to know the details of the Second Coming, causing many Christians to all but ignore the good news that Jesus is coming again. Yet God's own Word commands us to know the signs of the times, to remain watchful, and to be ready-whenever Christ comes. This book is a straightforward, in-depth exploration of the key biblical texts regarding the Second Coming; most notably, Christ's longest and most important eschatological message, the Olivet Discourse. As you study what the Word of God says about these matters, it will stir in your heart an earnest longing for Christ's return-as well as a certainty about how to live expectantly until He comes again.

Book excerpt: The Millennial Kingdom is a comprehensive biblical and historical treatment of the doctrine of the millennium written for the pastor, students, scholar, or layperson. The three leading millennial views -- postmillennialism, amillennialism, and premillennialism -- are presented in the context of their history, their theology, and their biblical interpretation. Dr. Walvoord presents postmillennialism first and then discusses amillennialism. However, the subject of premillenialism forms the main body of the work. The author introduces premillennialism with a survey of its historical background in the Old and New Testaments and in the history of the church. Its theological setting and methods of interpretation are discussed. A presentation of the character of the millennium concludes the volume.

Book excerpt: LARGER TYPE VERSION newly available! The classic and out-of-print The Second Coming Bible by William E. Biederwolf has been republished with permission by Sarkett & Associates, Inc. A 729-page compendium, it contains every verse in the Bible on the return of Jesus Christ, plus commentary by the author. A pastor, evangelist, and college president, William Biederwolf wrote in his introduction: "The author confesses to a ministry of twenty years without a single reference to the coming of the Lord." He set about to become knowledgeable about this essential prophecy, and more than made amends with this text, saying "it has been at times difficult and laborious, but it has proven so richly remunerative that he has been already more than repaid." We trust the modern reader will be too. Background on William E. Biederwolf Born of German parentage, September 29, 1867, in Monticello, Indiana, William Biederwolf was an energetic boy. He would often walk up the Tippecanoe River, and then swim back down to his starting point, some three miles. He made it look easy (it wasn't). One Halloween, someone took apart a wagon, and re-assembled in on the top of the county court house. The chief suspect: William Biederwolf. Young William had a distinctly spiritual side, as well. He aspired to become a Christian. Wikipedia tells the story this way: "Early in life he vowed to become a Christian. However, it did not happen until he was twenty years of age. By then he was teaching for a living. A Sunday school class began praying for him and each of the kids wrote him a letter, urging him to come out on the side of Christ. One boy even hooked up his mule team and drove over to invite Edward to church and offer him a ride. Edward went, and made the decision to use his life for Jesus. He attended Wabash College, a prestigious liberal arts college in Indiana, and from there gained admittance to Princeton, where he played football. From there he upped the academic ante even further, studying next at the University of Berlin, and following that, at the Sorbonne. He next served in the Spanish-American war as a chaplain. The thoughtful young man's very first book was the history of his regiment. From 1900 on, he devoted his energies to evangelism. Competitive there just as on the gridiron, he imagined himself as directly pitted against Satan for the souls of the unconverted, and gave everything he had to prevail. While a pastor, he wrote The Second Coming Bible, originally published in 1924, then reprinted again in 1972 by Baker House, Grand Rapids, Michigan.Biederwolf eventually became president of Winona College, directed the Winona Lake Bible School of Theology, and founded the Family Altar League. Having lived a thoroughly remarkable and productive life, in service of others, he passed on, September 3, 1939, age 71. The night before, he said to his wife Ida, "I am soon going to exchange my cross for a crown." Having studied the matter in great depth, his assurance was rock solid. Sarkett & Associates, Inc. also publishes:· After Armageddon A SHORT BOOK OF BIBLE PROPHECY: 77 Predictions on USA, Russia, Islam, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Israel, Mideast War, Global Warming, and more Strangest Stories in the Bible: and what they mean to you....as well as the Extraordinary Comebacks series. Book excerpt: Life with no end? Space with no bounds? And what about Armageddon, The Lake of Fire, The Mark of the Beast? Are we supposed to feel good about all this? When we wonder about these things, we aren't alone. There is much about the end of history we don't understand. But while thoughts on the final day will stir our questions, they needn't stir our fears. Regarding that day, Jesus urged, "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me" (John 14:1). Max Lucado believes the day Christ comes will be the "beginning of the very best." And our primary task is to be prepared and peaceful while we wait. If we have some questions about the end of time ... If we have concerns about what will happen to us ... If we want to look to the end of times as a source of comfort and not chaos ... Then this is the book we need. New York Times best-selling author Max Lucado walks us through Scripture to find peace in the present and hope for the hereafter.

Discover the story of biblical events that ushers in the end of times and how Jesus Christ returns again to save us all from our own demise. As Rachel Williams, a renowned television journalist, covers the signing of a historical peace accord in Jerusalem, a terrorist strike levels several of the Holy Land's most ancient, sacred sites - sites important to Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike. As international tensions rise due to the incident, Rachel finds a long-forgotten email she received months earlier foretelling these events - an email she dismissed because it came from a man whom she considered a "religious nut." When Rachel locates the sender, he gives her a Bible containing handwritten notes deciphering the Book of Revelation. After another terrorist attack occurs - one written about in the man's notes - Rachel embarks on an adventure of spiritual discovery that leads to unraveling the greatest mystery of all time: The rise of the Antichrist and the return of Jesus to Earth, and how she, an agnostic, plays a significant role in the Biblical End Times and the Battle of Armageddon.
