Each carol includes trio parts for each of the five instrument groupings: C Instruments in Treble Clef (flute, oboe, violin, keyboard, etc.)Bb Instruments in Treble Clef (Bb clarinet and trumpet, tenor sax)Eb Instruments in Treble Clef (alto sax, baritone sax, alto clarinet, etc.)F Instruments in Treble Clef (F horn)C Instruments in Bass Clef (trombone, baritone, tuba, bassoon, cello, etc.)The trio parts are transposed in concert key. One C Flute could play with one Bb Clarinet and one Eb Alto Sax, or small numbers of players could be assigned to parts I, II, or III. It includes two parts for either solo or duet performance and piano accompaniment. the books for flute, trombone, trumpet and alto sax are compatible so that ensembles may mix and match parts as desired. Suzuki groups may particularly enjoy these arrangements. the CD provides the piano accompaniments alone to be used for back-up, improvisatory play-along, or for pleasant listening by itself.
