Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As progressivism, identity politics, and moral relativism engulf our nation, Christians find themselves living in an increasingly hostile environment. This current state of affairs has many feeling disillusioned and helpless. Combined with escalating governmental intervention, a deepening racial divide, and a declining moral base, many are finding it more difficult to live by one's faith. Never before in our nation's history has Christianity faced such a hostile environment. In Leading in a Secular World, Richard A. Hardy defines biblical leadership principles to overcome the challenges of leading in this troublesome climate. Founded upon Jesus's last prayer before His crucifixion, these principles define the purpose and goal of biblical leadership. When paired with supporting biblical truths, these concepts will bring clarity to the social chaos we are now witnessing and healing to strained race relations. This book was written for any Christian interested in turning our nation back to God and making a difference in the communities in which they live. It is a practical guide to establish, reinvigorate, and transform your leadership. These concepts will support current leaders and empower a generation of future ones.

Book Understanding Christian Leadership

Download or read book Understanding Christian Leadership written by Ian Parkinson and published by SCM Press. This book was released on 2020 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding Christian Leadership offers an examination of a distinctly Christian understanding of leadership offering a critical appraisal of insights from secular theories of leadership, exploring biblical and other theological insights into the nature and practice of leadership. Whilst arguing for a form of leadership which is widely dispersed and collaborative, the book seeks to explain the distinctive role of leaders within such a leadership economy. It also seeks to establish a proper relationship between sacred and secular leadership thinking, tackling some of the common philosophical and theological reservations to do with leadership discourse, whilst offering a critical framework for discerning the suitability for the Church of different sources of leadership thinking. Designed as core reading for leadership modules currently taught by the author across a large number of training contexts in the UK, this book is an indispensable text for those taking undergraduate or postgraduate-level qualifications in Christian leadership as well as those in other less formal leadership training contexts. Foreword by Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury

Book Leadership or Servanthood

Download or read book Leadership or Servanthood written by Hwa Yung and published by Langham Global Library. This book was released on 2021-10-06 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world is obsessed with leaders: identifying them, training them, becoming them. Even in the church, this preoccupation is all-too apparent. Jesus, however, is not interested in developing leaders. Rather, he is interested in the formation of servants. In this powerful reflection on leadership and servanthood, Dr. Hwa Yung addresses the overemphasis on leadership development within the church. Challenging a culture of hubris, ambition, and self-seeking, he reminds us that ministry is not a call to position and power but to service and obedience. He draws us back to the example of Christ, who came as a servant of God and of his kingdom, who lived in submission to the Father, and who rooted himself in his identity as the incarnate Son of God. Linking spiritual authority to these three characteristics, Hwa Yung offers examples from both Scripture and church history to demonstrate that it is in fact the faithful practice of servanthood that leads to leadership impact.

These decisions are illustrated in compelling interviews with over forty leaders of churches, universities, denominational bodies, and international ministries. Yet more than ninety percent of Christian workers communicate through a highly literacy-based approach. This disconnect overlooks a primary method of Jesus himself in the preparation of leaders and impedes the effective cultivation of leaders in the growing global church. Through engaging stories, biblical insights, leadership research, field-tested methods, and practical models of effective leadership development, Leading with Story offers unique solutions that will inspire and challenge any who want to raise up or to be raised up as Christ-centered leaders in this storycentric generation.

Book Secrets of Christian Leadership Success

Download or read book Secrets of Christian Leadership Success written by Lawrence Ativie Osifo and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-06-12 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Foundational Knowledge It is the perfect and divine plan of the God of all creations that all His creations; prosper and have good successes. BUT the instrument for measuring Christian Leadership Success is "Spirit-o-meter." Any attempt to apply "Flesh-o-meter" will only end the leader up in disgrace. In other words; Christian Leadership success is not judged with the same standard as the worldly leadership success. The principles are different; the destinations and the rewards also differ. The methods and styles of leadership in the world of unbelievers are not the same as methods and styles of leadership in the Christendom. The worldly methods and styles may give you immediate and great results; BUT such schemes do not stand the test of times. The worldly success does not enter into eternity in the Heaven where Christ dwells. The main agenda for this book is committed to helping Christian leaders to successfully enter into their heavenly home; and not after leading others to enter; they themselves are cast out; being told at the gate; "I never knew you: depart from me, you who worked iniquity." That will be an eternal disgrace. In Luke 10:20; Jesus was quick to caution His disciples; "do not only rejoice that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, that your names are written in heaven." But it seems that many Christians today have; kind of; lost the consciousness and the desire for their names to be written in heaven. This is exactly where many Christian leaders are failing in this era. Many Christian leaders are ignorantly applying the methods of the world for acquiring successes in the Church. The application of the worldly standard to acquire success as a Christian; places the believer as the enemy of the Holy God. The Holy bible book of James 4:4; clearly says this; "You adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore, will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." The causes of Christian Leaders successes and the reasons for their failures will continually be pointed out and as well addressed as matters arising in every chapter of this book. The cures for the failures; which are actually the secrets; are in the fate of individual believers; as the scripture says in 2Timothy 2:19; that the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal; the Lord knows them that are His. And, let everyone that calls on the name of Christ depart from iniquity. The successes made by some Christian leaders are largely determined by the foundational knowledge divinely acquired; and imbibed by such leaders. Anyone who began in truth with a sincere mind in the Spirit of the Holy God and continue in the word of the Righteous God will definitely succeed at last. The world most acclaimed successful leader of the Christians is "Jesus the Christ." He is the one every true Christian leader desires to be like. In Him and from Him are the secrets needed by any leader to truly succeed. He knew so much about the future events; and He said; in warnings to His disciples; in the bible book of Matthew; chapter twenty-four; verse five, that; many will come in My name; saying; 'I am the Christ, ' and they will be leading many astray. In the bible records of Luke chapter twenty-one; verse eight; He said, "Take heed that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name, saying, 'I am he!' and, 'The time is at hand!' Do not go after them. In Luke chapter twelve verse fifteen; the Lord Jesus Christ said; "Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life is not in the abundance of the belongings which he possesses." The phrase; "Beware of covetousness"; stands clearly out as number one profound statement and secret for successes which any thoughtful leader must jealously treasure on the way up; and to balance up.
