This book was released on 2012 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the wake of the Holocaust, a number of influential scholars argue for a «bi-covenantal» or «two-covenant» approach to Paul's view of Israel and the Gentiles. They maintain that Israel has always been right with God apart from Jesus Christ, and that the death of Jesus is salvifically relevant only for the Gentiles. Through Him the Gentiles can receive the same blessings the Jewish people possess by virtue of the Law of Moses. The Sonderweg proponents argue that the Jewish people need Jesus, but the future conversion of all Israel mentioned in Romans 11:25-27 takes place when the Lord himself preaches the gospel to Israel at the second coming. The church need not evangelize the Jewish people. But neither of these positions does justice to Paul's letters, where he teaches that the Jewish people need Jesus for their justification, and God will use the evangelistic efforts of the church to bring it about.

Book Jesus Christ the Savior Is Born

Download or read book Jesus Christ the Savior Is Born written by Elder Belinda Lee McNeal-Walker and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04-18 with total page 39 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a captivating overview of the true birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Each word is inspired by the Holy Spirit, leaving no opportunity for the desires of the flesh, false doctrine, or traditional thinking to intervene. The Holy Bible provides explicit details concerning the birth, life, and death of Christ. However, his true purpose has been altered by many false teachings, doctrines, and traditional generational customs based on lies, trickery, and deceit, which have ultimately resulted in death. The Bible declares in Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. His purpose is no secret to those who believe and receive. This inspired work is the alpha of a series entitled The Divine Collection for Christ. The purpose of this work is to break the traditional generational customs and provide our children, teens, as well adults, with the truth. As you read this book, allow the Holy Spirit to minister to your heart. As the truth is revealed, take a moment to receive Jesus as your personal savior and repent of any and all sins, including the sin of idolatry associated with false teaching, doctrine, and worship that may have cultivated your life. As children of the Most High God, we are mandated to share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our children deserve the truth. The appointed time has come to break the traditional generational customs of lies. The Bible declares in Ephesians 6:4, And, ye fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The future of our children rest on the foundation that we build for them today. This foundation must be built on truth and not on traditional generational customs.

Book Jesus in America

    Book Details:
  • Author : Richard W. Fox
  • Publisher : Harper Collins
  • Release : 2009-10-13
  • ISBN : 0061871184
  • Pages : 989 pages

Download or read book Jesus in America written by Richard W. Fox and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2009-10-13 with total page 989 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Where else but America do people ask: What Would Jesus Do? What Would Jesus Drive? What Would Jesus Eat? "This book is for believers and non-believers alike. It is not a book about whether one should believe in Jesus, but about how Americans have believed in and portrayed him."—from the Introduction Jesus in America is a comprehensive exploration of the vital role that the figure of Jesus has played throughout American history. Written by one of our most distinguished historians, Richard Wightman Fox, this book provides a brilliant cultural history of Jesus in America from its origins to today, demonstrating how Jesus is the most influential symbolic figure in our history. Benjamin Franklin understood Jesus as a wise man worthy of imitation. Thomas Jefferson regarded him as a moral teacher. The assassination of Abraham Lincoln, which occurred on Good Friday, was popularly interpreted as paralleling the crucifixion of Jesus . . . as one preacher put it, "Jesus Christ died for the world, Abraham Lincoln died for his country." Elizabeth Cady Stanton appropriated Jesus' message to champion women's rights. George W. Bush named Jesus as his favorite political philosopher—and several other GOP candidates followed suit—during the last presidential race. As we have seen in recent presidential elections, the name of Jesus is often thrust into the center of political debates, and many Americans regularly enlist Jesus, their ultimate arbiter of value, as the standard-bearer for their views and causes. Fox shows how Jesus influenced such major turning points in American history as: Columbus's voyage of discovery The arrival of the English puritans and Spanish missionaries The American Revolution The abolition of slavery and the Civil War Labor movements Social and cultural revolutions of the sixties and beyond The swelling tide of Christian voices in the politics and entertainment of today Fox gives an expert, lively account of all the ways that Jesus is portrayed and understood in American culture. Extensively illustrated with images representing the multitude of American views of Jesus, Jesus in America reveals how fully and deeply Jesus is ingrained in the American experience.
