Download or read book Technical Chemistry written by Viktor A. Valtsifer and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2011-09-22 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is twofold. Firstly, to introduce researchers from the Institute of Technical Chemistry, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Perm, Russia, who are currently involved in research and development, and represent an impressive diversity of scientific interests. They never confine themselves to one area in their research work, but always devote their time, professional interests, talent and dedication to several fields of organic chemistry, science of materials and nanotechnologies. Secondly, the book collects a number of scientific papers, many of which were presented at the international conference “Technical Chemistry: From Theory to Praxis 2010” held in Perm. These papers report new results in said fields of chemistry while focusing on the results of research projects funded by the Russian Academy of Sciences and by the Russian Fund for Basic Research. The book has been designed for those who develop new products and now also have to take into account social driving forces which have already come into play, e.g., safety, health and environmental factors, energy conservation, apart from conventional economic considerations such as development costs, raw material supply, etc.

Book Die Fakult t f r Technische Chemie The Faculty of Technical Chemistry

Download or read book Die Fakult t f r Technische Chemie The Faculty of Technical Chemistry written by Herbert Danninger and published by Böhlau Verlag Wien. This book was released on 2015-10-02 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Faculty of Technical Chemistry introduces itself! The historical development of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the TU is presented in the five chapters of this volume, starting with the foundation of the Imperial Royal Polytechnic Institute in 1815 and reaching all the way to the TU Wien in 2015, including current research highlights of the Faculty of Technical Chemistry and an overview of its modern equipment and building infrastructure, curricula, and excellent contact with the alumni. A lively picture of the teaching and research of this successful faculty and fully renovated Getreidemarkt Campus is painted, making, however, no claims to completeness.

Book Chemical Process Technology

Download or read book Chemical Process Technology written by Jacob A. Moulijn and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-03-21 with total page 691 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With a focus on actual industrial processes, e.g. the production of light alkenes, synthesis gas, fine chemicals, polyethene, it encourages the reader to think “out of the box” and invent and develop novel unit operations and processes. Reflecting today’s emphasis on sustainability, this edition contains new coverage of biomass as an alternative to fossil fuels, and process intensification. The second edition includes: New chapters on Process Intensification and Processes for the Conversion of Biomass Updated and expanded chapters throughout with 35% new material overall Text boxes containing case studies and examples from various different industries, e.g. synthesis loop designs, Sasol I Plant, Kaminsky catalysts, production of Ibuprofen, click chemistry, ammonia synthesis, fluid catalytic cracking Questions throughout to stimulate debate and keep students awake! Richly illustrated chapters with improved figures and flow diagrams Chemical Process Technology, Second Edition is a comprehensive introduction, linking the fundamental theory and concepts to the applied nature of the subject. It will be invaluable to students of chemical engineering, biotechnology and industrial chemistry, as well as practising chemical engineers. From reviews of the first edition: “The authors have blended process technology, chemistry and thermodynamics in an elegant manner... Overall this is a welcome addition to books on chemical technology.” – The Chemist “Impressively wide-ranging and comprehensive... an excellent textbook for students, with a combination of fundamental knowledge and technology.” – Chemistry in Britain (now Chemistry World)

Book Nontraditional Careers for Chemists New Formulas in Chemistry

Download or read book Nontraditional Careers for Chemists New Formulas in Chemistry written by Consultant Lisa M. Balbes Sole Proprietor, and Technical Writer Balbes Consultants and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2006-09-13 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Chemistry background prepares you for much more than just a laboratory career. The broad science education, analytical thinking, research methods, and other skills learned are of value to a wide variety of types of employers, and essential for a plethora of types of positions. Those who are interested in chemistry tend to have some similar personality traits and characteristics. By understanding your own personal values and interests, you can make informed decisions about what career paths to explore, and identify positions that match your needs. By expanding your options for not only what you will do, but also the environment in which you will do it, you can vastly increase the available employment opportunities, and increase the likelihood of finding enjoyable and lucrative employment. Each chapter in this book provides background information on a nontraditional field, including typical tasks, education or training requirements, and personal characteristics that make for a successful career in that field. Each chapter also contains detailed profiles of several chemists working in that field. The reader gets a true sense of what these people do on a daily basis, what in their background prepared them to move into this field, and what skills, personality, and knowledge are required to make a success of a career in this new field. Advice for people interested in moving into the field, and predictions for the future of that career, are also included from each person profiled. Career fields profiled include communication, chemical information, patents, sales and marketing, business development, regulatory affairs, public policy, safety, human resources, computers, and several others. Taken together, the career descriptions and real case histories provide a complete picture of each nontraditional career path, as well as valuable advice about how career transitions can be planned and successfully achieved by any chemist.
