Book Charlie the Brave Monkey

Download or read book Charlie the Brave Monkey written by Alison J. Martin and published by Strategic Book Publishing. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charlie, the Brave Monkey is a delightful tale about a monkey who is terribly shy. He longs to play with the other young monkeys, but is too timid to talk to them. How he longs to be able to swing from the trees with them by his side! Charlie's problem is that he just can't think of a thing to say to the other monkeys! He would always think of something very clever once they had gone home. One day, he takes a walk all alone. After walking a long way, he decides to have a rest. He settles down under a tree and falls asleep. What happens next shows pure bravery on Charlie's part. Charlie becomes a hero and the other monkeys love him for it. If ever he feels shy, he reminds himself of the brave thing he did! Now he plays with the monkeys all the time and is being accepted for who he is. When her daughter was struggling with her reading, Alison J Martin wrote this book to encourage her child to read more often. Born in Liverpool, the first-time author was a primary teacher before being felled by a stroke in 2006. She is now a stay-at-home mother of two in Telford, England. Book Charlie s House

Download or read book Charlie s House written by Herb Moore and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2020-11-30 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When it comes to making Marines, no one does it better than the basic training drill instructors at Parris Island, South Carolina and San Diego, California. But when it came down to making men, Vietnam ranked at the top of the list. An 18 year old teenager who found himself in combat, became a man before he could buy a squirrel rifle or a beer back home. Here is the story of some of those young men, Dawson and Rooker, as well as Swan, Taggart, Sweet Georgia, Gunny Huggins, Rabi and Putt-Putt, who met the world as Marines and became men as they faced horrendous ambushes, unbearable heat, furious mosquitoes and fierce combat. The all but fanatical North Vietnamese soldiers and the Viet Cong saw all Americans, especially the Marines, as an enemy who should be killed at every opportunity. Firefights blew up in unexpected places at any moment during the undeclared war. As the young Marines grew quickly into manhood they began to wonder if their best Marine Corps training would be good enough for them to survive? Even in all the madness of war, there were times of light humor among friends and comrades but always there was the threat that any minute a deathblow could erupt with no warning. Doubts and dreams were shared among the young Marines. Fear became a constant partner and stress was always a faithful companion. They learned to live with a deep in the stomach churning as they fully recognized that each minute could be their last. When a Marine Recon faced the feared enemy, Dawson and Rooker found themselves in the midst of trying to formulate and carry out a dangerous plan. What really happened may surprise you....it did them.
