Er lasst ihre Familie nach Madrid zuruckkommen, unterstutzt sie reichlich und setzt sie zu seinen Universalerben ein, lasst sie aber nie zu einem personlichen Verkehr mit sich zu. Nach seinem Tode wird ein neues Testament gefunden, wonach alles der katholischen Kirche vermacht wird, deren glaubiger Anhanger Guzmann gewesen war.
