The plan was to give' the lee tures in some hall adjacent to the exhibits to which they related, and to follow this up by personal visits by the class to the departments where the objects were displayed, and by oral and tactual demonstrations, not merely of the objects themselves, but of their historical and causal relations and their true meaning to the present state of art and industry.
