This book was released on 1994-04-05 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study of chaos expansions and multiple Wiener-Ito integrals has become a field of considerable interest in applied and theoretical areas of probability, stochastic processes, mathematical physics, and statistics. Divided into four parts, this book features a wide selection of surveys and recent developments on these subjects. Part 1 introduces the concepts, techniques, and applications of multiple Wiener-Ito and related integrals. The second part includes papers on chaos random variables appearing in many limiting theorems. Part 3 is devoted to mixing, zero-one laws, and path continuity properties of chaos processes. The final part presents several applications to stochastic analysis.

Download or read book Stochastic Processes Physics and Geometry New Interplays I written by Sergio Albeverio and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2000 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume and "IStochastic Processes, Physics and Geometry: New Interplays II" present state-of-the-art research currently unfolding at the interface between mathematics and physics. Included are select articles from the international conference held in Leipzig (Germany) in honor of Sergio Albeverio's sixtieth birthday. The theme of the conference, "Infinite Dimensional (Stochastic) Analysis and Quantum Physics", was chosen to reflect Albeverio's wide-ranging scientific interests. The articles in these books reflect that broad range of interests and provide a detailed overview highlighting the deep interplay among stochastic processes, mathematical physics, and geometry. The contributions are written by internationally recognized experts in the fields of stochastic analysis, linear and nonlinear (deterministic and stochastic) PDEs, infinite dimensional analysis, functional analysis, commutative and noncommutative probability theory, integrable systems, quantum and statistical mechanics, geometric quantization, and neural networks. Also included are applications in biology and other areas. Most of the contributions are high-level research papers. However, there are also some overviews on topics of general interest. The articles selected for publication in these volumes were specifically chosen to introduce readers to advanced topics, to emphasize interdisciplinary connections, and to stress future research directions. Volume I contains contributions from invited speakers; Volume II contains additional contributed papers. Members of the Canadian Mathematical Society may order at the AMS member price.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Learn the basics of white noise theory with White Noise Distribution Theory. This book covers the mathematical foundation and key applications of white noise theory without requiring advanced knowledge in this area. This instructive text specifically focuses on relevant application topics such as integral kernel operators, Fourier transforms, Laplacian operators, white noise integration, Feynman integrals, and positive generalized functions. Extremely well-written by one of the field's leading researchers, White Noise Distribution Theory is destined to become the definitive introductory resource on this challenging topic.

There are two chapters for general nonlinear time series problems.
Download or read book Probability in Banach Spaces 9 written by Jorgen Hoffmann-Jorgensen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers contained in this volume are an indication of the topics th discussed and the interests of the participants of The 9 International Conference on Probability in Banach Spaces, held at Sandjberg, Denmark, August 16-21, 1993. A glance at the table of contents indicates the broad range of topics covered at this conference. What defines research in this field is not so much the topics considered but the generality of the ques tions that are asked. The goal is to examine the behavior of large classes of stochastic processes and to describe it in terms of a few simple prop erties that the processes share. The reward of research like this is that occasionally one can gain deep insight, even about familiar processes, by stripping away details, that in hindsight turn out to be extraneous. A good understanding about the disciplines involved in this field can be obtained from the recent book, Probability in Banach Spaces, Springer-Verlag, by M. Ledoux and M. Thlagrand. On page 5, of this book, there is a list of previous conferences in probability in Banach spaces, including the other eight international conferences. One can see that research in this field over the last twenty years has contributed significantly to knowledge in probability and has had important applications in many other branches of mathematics, most notably in statistics and functional analysis.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This IMA Volume in Mathematics and its Applications NONLINEAR STOCHASTIC PDEs: HYDRODYNAMIC LIMIT AND BURGERS' TURBULENCE is based on the proceedings of the period of concentration on Stochas tic Methods for Nonlinear PDEs which was an integral part of the 1993- 94 IMA program on "Emerging Applications of Probability." We thank Tadahisa Funaki and Wojbor A. Woyczynski for organizing this meeting and for editing the proceedings. We also take this opportunity to thank the National Science Foundation and the Army Research Office, whose financial support made this workshop possible. A vner Friedman Willard Miller, Jr. xiii PREFACE A workshop on Nonlinear Stochastic Partial Differential Equations was held during the week of March 21 at the Institute for Mathematics and Its Applications at the University of Minnesota. It was part of the Special Year on Emerging Applications of Probability program put together by an organizing committee chaired by J. Michael Steele. The selection of topics reflected personal interests of the organizers with two areas of emphasis: the hydrodynamic limit problems and Burgers' turbulence and related models. The talks and the papers appearing in this volume reflect a number of research directions that are currently pursued in these areas.

This book was released on 1995-09-18 with total page 600 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study of chaotic behaviour of dynamical systems has triggered new efforts to reconcile deterministic and stochastic processes as well as classical and quantum physics. New efforts are made to understand complex and unpredictable behaviour. The papers collected in this volume give a broad overview of these activities. Readers will get a glimpse of the growing importance of Lévy processes for physics. They will find new views on fundamental concepts of quantum physics and will see many applications of chaotic and essentially random phenomena to a number of physical problems.

Download or read book Stochastic Differential Equations written by Bernt Oksendal and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main new feature of the fifth edition is the addition of a new chapter, Chapter 12, on applications to mathematical finance. I found it natural to include this material as another major application of stochastic analysis, in view of the amazing development in this field during the last 10-20 years. Moreover, the close contact between the theoretical achievements and the applications in this area is striking. For example, today very few firms (if any) trade with options without consulting the Black & Scholes formula! The first 11 chapters of the book are not much changed from the previous edition, but I have continued my efforts to improve the presentation through out and correct errors and misprints. Some new exercises have been added. Moreover, to facilitate the use of the book each chapter has been divided into subsections. If one doesn't want (or doesn't have time) to cover all the chapters, then one can compose a course by choosing subsections from the chapters. The chart below indicates what material depends on which sections. Chapter 6 Chapter IO Chapter 12 For example, to cover the first two sections of the new chapter 12 it is recom mended that one (at least) covers Chapters 1-5, Chapter 7 and Section 8.6. VIII Chapter 10, and hence Section 9.1, are necessary additional background for Section 12.3, in particular for the subsection on American options.
