This book was released on 2017-09-04 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Language Education and Emotions written by Mathea Simons and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-10-08 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Language Education and Emotions presents innovative, empirical research into the influence of emotions and affective factors in language education, both in L1 and in foreign language education. It offers a comprehensive overview of studies authored and co-authored by researchers from all over the world. The volume opens and ends with "backbone" contributions by two of the discipline’s most reputed scholars: Jane Arnold (Spain) and Jean-Marc Dewaele (United Kingdom). This book broadens our understanding of emotions, including well-known concepts such as foreign language anxiety as well as addressing the emotions that have only recently received scientific attention, driven by the positive psychology movement. Chapters explore emotions from the perspective of the language learner and the language teacher, and in relation to educational processes. A number of contributions deal with traditional, school-based contexts, whereas others study new settings of foreign language education such as migration. The book paints a picture of the broad scale of approaches used to study this topic and offers new and relevant insights for the field of language education and emotions. This book will be of great interest to academics, researchers and postgraduate students in the field of language education, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and applied linguistics.
Download or read book Reflective Teacher Education written by Linda Valli and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 1992-09-01 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An increasing number of educators are arguing for conceptually sound reflective or inquiry-oriented teacher education programs. The argument is based on the fact that reflective teaching is possible and the belief that teachers should develop habits of consciously informed action. Those who promote reflective teaching argue for teacher empowerment within a self-renewing profession. Reflective Teacher Education offers case studies from seven universities that have organized teacher education programs around the concept of reflection. The cases represent public and private institutions, and alternative and traditional models of teacher preparation. The studies represent efforts to transform the entire professional education component rather than individual courses or isolated strategies. The volume also considers reflection as a conceptual orientation, commenting on its power to inform and improve teacher education, and assessing the implementation of reflection in these specific programs. The six critiques raise intriguing questions about the possibility and desirability of reflective reform efforts by viewing the cases from varying perspectives—development, cognitive, feminist, social reconstructionist, and post-modern.

He examines the achievements and shortcomings of arable agriculture and the significance of the livestock industry, the links between town and countryside, the influence of foreign migrants and foreign capital, the relationship between local and national politics, and the extent to which regionalism represented a challenge to the consolidation of the national state in Colombia. Download or read book Radical Pedagogies written by Beatriz Colomina and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2022-05-31 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Experiments in architectural education in the post–World War II era that challenged and transformed architectural discourse and practice. In the decades after World War II, new forms of learning transformed architectural education. These radical experiments sought to upend disciplinary foundations and conventional assumptions about the nature of architecture as much as they challenged modernist and colonial norms, decentered building, imagined new roles for the architect, and envisioned participatory forms of practice. Although many of the experimental programs were subsequently abandoned, terminated, or assimilated, they nevertheless helped shape and in some sense define architectural discourse and practice. This book explores and documents these radical pedagogies and efforts to defy architecture’s status quo. The experiments include the adaptation of Bauhaus pedagogy as a means of “unlearning” under the conditions of decolonization in Africa; a movement to design for “every body,” including the disabled, by architecture students and faculty at the University of California, Berkeley; the founding of a support network for women interested in the built environment, regardless of their academic backgrounds; and a design studio in the USSR that offered an alternative to the widespread functionalist approach in Soviet design. Viewed through their dissolution and afterlife as well as through their founding stories, these projects from the last century raise provocative questions about architecture’s role in the new century.
Download or read book Quand les r cits de pratique enseignante parlent d appren written by Raphaël Pasquini and published by Presses de l'Université Laval. This book was released on 2013-10-03T00:00:00-04:00 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
