In addition, ADF & G has management authority for lingcod, Ophiodon elongatus, and black rockfish, Sebastes melanops, in waters of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) located adjacent to the Cook Inlet Area and from 3 nm offshore. Commercial groundfish fisheries, including harvests, effort, and regulations, are described for the Cook Inlet Area during the years 1988 to 2004. Several regulatory management changes through the period 1996-2004 are described for Cook Inlet Area commercial groundfish fisheries and recent regulatory changes based upon Alaska Board of Fisheries action during the 2004-2005 meeting cycle are summarized.

This includes the Eastern Bering Sea where some the worlds most important commercial fishing takes place. Their mission is to develop and maintain scientific exploration to help understand and manage that region's environment. Over the years there have been many reports published which discuss their findings; this is one of them.
