Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the celestial realm of Paradise, the atmosphere has grown somber. Nightly discussions among Arab scholars, spanning from the classical to the medieval periods and even the present day, have reached an impasse. Conversations aimed at finding solutions for the earthly world below seem increasingly futile, as if history’s lessons have been forgotten or ignored. The vibrant mood once prevalent in Paradise has given way to listlessness and gloom. But what if the key to reigniting joy and inspiration lies in an age-old universal tradition: sharing a meal? That’s right, a food contest! Celestial Dining to Entice: An Arab Food Contest in Paradise aims to shift the narrative from despair to delight. Scholars present their chosen medieval Arab dishes, each accompanied by personal stories that reveal who they are and why they’ve selected their dish. The contest does more than just brighten the atmosphere; it serves as a poignant reminder that history may have its lessons, but food possesses the timeless power to unite and uplift. Experience a celestial gathering where heavenly flavours meet earthly concerns, and discover how even in Paradise, the simple joy of sharing a meal can transform the spirit.

Book I m Hungry I m Bored Eat and Play Your Way to Better Health a Leaner Physique and a Happier Life

Download or read book I m Hungry I m Bored Eat and Play Your Way to Better Health a Leaner Physique and a Happier Life written by Carol McCormick and published by Carol McCormick. This book was released on 2014-10-03 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I'M HUNGRY! I'M BORED! can help you and your children make better dietary choices and behavioral changes that lead to weight loss and health gains. I'M HUNGRY! provides the what, why, and how-to of nutrition and weight loss by defining the problems, offering solutions, and then presenting guidelines to carry them through. I'M BORED! offers hundreds of suggestions and links to fun and educational activities, questions to ask, jobs to perform, and services to volunteer, all-of-which develop the intellect, confidence, and feelings of fulfillment. These activities may also deter the hand-to-mouth eating habit that so often accompanies boredom. WARNING! Reading this book and following these instructions may cause significant changes to your health and life. Adhering to the nutritional guidelines and participating in the suggested activities on a regular basis may cause long-term weight loss and feelings of well-being. Common side-effects may include, but are not limited to, increased amounts of energy, confidence, and clarity of mind; frequent feelings of joy, happiness, and fulfillment; frequent feelings of purpose, meaning, and significance; increased episodes of love, laughter and inspiration, followed by a sudden awareness that people want to be near you. Additional effects may also include loss of desire for inferior food and fewer bouts of depression, anxiety, and illness. If at any time these effects wane or do not fully occur, repeat the behaviors until the desired results become evident. Carol McCormick is a certified personal trainer and a certified health coach through the American Council on Exercise, one of the top fitness organizations in the world. I'M HUNGRY! I'M BORED! was born out of her great concern for children and adults who struggle with weight-related personal and social issues. Overweight children are falling prey to a host of “adult” diseases, and many are taunted, teased, and bullied because of their appearance. Adults are not immune to this discrimination, as they are also “sized-up” when searching for a date or seeking a career. These painful emotions often cause both children and adults, not only to feel sad or upset, but also inferior and insecure. As these physical, emotional, and social problems intensify, feelings of unhappiness may also increase. Habits instilled in your children now often follow them into their future. In helping them, you will be helping yourself, because what works for them will work for you too, if you need a nudge in this direction. I’M HUNGRY! I’M BORED! provides the blueprints needed to lay a strong foundation and create new behaviors that lead to better health, a leaner physique, and a happier life! TABLE OF CONTENTS I’M HUNGRY! This book was released on 2024-01-08 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WE'RE NOT ALONE. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN ALONE. THOUSAND OF YEARS OF SECRECY WAS ABOUT TO COME TO LIGHT... He heard voices...saw visions from civilizations thousands of years in the past...his body and mind hijacked by a being not of this world...with a never-ending hunger and leaving a trail of bodies wherever they went. Alex Jackson was no longer in control. An Ancient Celestial from Earth's distant past now controlled every aspect of his life with Alex only along for the ride. The taste of blood filled his mouth. The shrieks of horrified victims ring in his ears. The feel of their life slipping away forever tainting his hands. It was a small sacrifice to save the ones he loved. He prayed it wasn't too late for Lucas. Lucas Griffith had died and been brought back to life by whatever possessed Alex. Angel, demon, or something in between, it was too dangerous to be allowed to roam the streets. It was a powerful predator with the ability to lure it's prey to it with merely a look. And it was using Alex's body to seduce and murder innocent people. He was losing a little more of Alex with each killing and sooner or later the man he loved would be no more. With Elizabeth at his side, Lucas must find Alex...before a potentially greater threat destroys them all.

Book Islam and the Destiny of Man

Download or read book Islam and the Destiny of Man written by Charles Le Gai Eaton and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 1985-09-30 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Islam and the Destiny of Man by Charles Le Gai Eaton is a wide-ranging study of the Muslim religion from a unique point of view. The author, a former member of the British Diplomatic Service, was brought up as an agnostic and embraced Islam at an early age after writing a book (commissioned by T.S. Eliot) on Eastern religions and their influence upon Western thinkers. As a Muslim he has retained his adherence to the perennial philosophy which, he maintains, underlies the teachings of all the great religions. The aim of this book is to explore what it means to be a Muslim, a member of a community which embraces a quarter of the world’s population and to describe the forces which have shaped the hearts and the minds of Islamic people. After considering the historic confrontation between Islam and Christendom and analysing the difference between the three monotheistic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), the author describes the two poles of Muslim belief in terms of ‘Truth’ and ‘Mercy’—the unitarian truth which is the basis of the Muslim’s faith and the mercy inherent in this truth. In the second part of the book he explains the significance of the Qur’an and tells the dramatic story of Muhammad’s life and of the early Caliphate. Lastly, the author considers the Muslim view of man’s destiny, the social structure of Islam, the role of art and mysticism and the inner meaning of Islamic teaching concerning the hereafter. Throughout this book the author is concerned not with the religion of Islam in isolation, but with the very nature of religious faith, its spiritual and intellectual foundations, and the light it casts upon the mysteries and paradoxes of the human condition.

Book excerpt: "Lawman is an outstanding historical. If you don't grab this one, you will be missing an incredible read!" --Patricia White, Under the Covers Book Reviews He followed the trail of an outlaw... In rough-and-tumble Arizona Territory, the desert sun burned hotter than Pinkerton agent Gabriel Winter's need to bring an elusive stagecoach robber to justice. There, he quickly encountered a formidable obstacle—Megan Kearney, the suspect's daughter. He wondered how such a rare beauty had avoided marriage in a town crawling with bachelors...Until he discovered she was holding out for true love. On top of that, the spitfire spinster hotly defended her father's innocence. For some reason, Gabriel wanted to believe not just her naïve claims about her father, but her outlandish romantic notions as well. Still, no outlaw had ever slipped through his fingers, and he wasn't about to risk that hard-earned reputation for the pleasures promised in Megan's fiery gaze... Into the arms of a forbidden woman Megan had to find her father before Gabriel did—which meant monitoring his every move. Accompanying him amid the saloons and brothels crowding Tucson's dusty streets, Megan intended to clear her father's name—even if it meant using her feminine wiles to charm the city slicker detective. She would prove that the maddeningly self-assured Gabriel had underestimated her resolve. But Megan soon discovered that she had underestimated the powerful feelings one man could arouse in a heart that ached for passion...and everlasting love. "Highly recommended!
