Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Cases in Controllership The purpose. OF this book IS TO provide A collection OF case materials that will be useful as a basis for study of that area Of busi ness management generally known as controllership. The book 18 not intended to provide technical training in accounting; in fact, it assumes a knowledge of the fundamentals Of accounting. The mate rials included in the book are designed to provide the student a means of gaining an understanding Of an important dimension of the controller function which is frequently overlooked in accounting curricula - the relationship Of the work of the controller or financial Officer to the Operating functions of the business organization. The book also places heavy emphasis on the analytical aspects Of the controller function. The aim is to develop skills of analysis and practice of judgment through a series of experiences with actual business situations. All of the cases in this book were developed for use in courses at the Harvard Business School, and are Copyrighted by the President and Fellows Of Harvard College. Book Movement Theory of Control

Download or read book Movement Theory of Control written by Norbert Hornstein and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2010 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Natural languages offer many examples of displacement, i.e. constructions in which a non-local expression is critical for some grammatical end. Two central examples include phenomena such as raising and passive on the one hand, and control on the other. Though each phenomenon is an example of displacement, they have been theoretically distinguished. Movement rules have generated the former and formally very different construal rules, the latter. The "Movement Theory of Control" challenges this differentiation and argues that the operations that generate the two constructions are the same, the differences arising from the positions through which the displaced elements are moved. In the context of the Minimalist Program, reducing the class of basic operations is methodologically prized. This volume is a collection of original papers that argue for this approach to control on theoretical and empirical grounds as well. The papers also develop and constrain the movement theory to account for novel phenomena from a variety of languages."

Book Fault Tolerant Attitude Control of Spacecraft

Download or read book Fault Tolerant Attitude Control of Spacecraft written by Qinglei Hu and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2021-06-09 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fault-Tolerant Attitude Control of Spacecraft presents the fundamentals of spacecraft fault-tolerant attitude control systems, along with the most recent research and advanced, nonlinear control techniques. This book gives researchers a self-contained guide to the complex tasks of envisaging, designing, implementing and experimenting by presenting designs for integrated modeling, dynamics, fault-tolerant attitude control, and fault reconstruction for spacecraft. Specifically, the book gives a full literature review and presents preliminaries and mathematical models, robust fault-tolerant attitude control, fault-tolerant attitude control with actuator saturation, velocity-free fault tolerant attitude control, finite-time fault-tolerant attitude tracking control, and active fault-tolerant attitude contour. Finally, the book looks at the future of this interesting topic, offering readers a one-stop solution for those working on fault-tolerant attitude control for spacecraft. - Presents the fundamentals of fault-tolerant attitude control systems for spacecraft in one practical solution - Gives the latest research and thinking on nonlinear attitude control, fault tolerant control, and reliable attitude control - Brings together concepts in fault control theory, fault diagnosis, and attitude control for spacecraft - Covers advances in theory, technological aspects, and applications in spacecraft - Presents detailed numerical and simulation results to assist engineers - Offers a clear, systematic reference on fault-tolerant control and attitude control for spacecraft

Book Control of Dead time Processes

Download or read book Control of Dead time Processes written by Julio E. Normey-Rico and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-06-07 with total page 474 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text introduces the fundamental techniques for controlling dead-time processes from simple monovariable to complex multivariable cases. Dead-time-process-control problems are studied using classical proportional-integral-differential (PID) control for the simpler examples and dead-time-compensator (DTC) and model predictive control (MPC) methods for progressively more complex ones. Downloadable MATLAB® code makes the examples and ideas more convenient and simpler.
