Book Imaging of Spinal Infection

Download or read book Imaging of Spinal Infection written by Mohamed Fethi Ladeb and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-05-07 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines all aspects of the imaging of spinal infection. The diagnosis of spinal infection has been a challenge for many years. In addition to clinical and laboratory findings and histopathological examination, imaging has a major role in aiding and expediting the correct diagnosis. This book comprehensively addresses how imaging can help in localizing the site and specifying the extent of a variety of spinal infections. After introductory chapters on the epidemiology and pathophysiology of spinal infection, the different imaging techniques are discussed in detail. The bulk of the book addresses different specific spinal infections caused by various pathogens. These comprise chapters on hematogeneous pyogenic spondylodiscitis, iatrogenic spinal infection, pyogenic epidural abscess, spinal brucellosis, salmonella spondylodiscitis, spinal tuberculosis, spinal hydatidosis, and fungal spondylodiscitis. The last chapter describes diagnostic algorithm of spinal infection. The book is written by Tunisian, Asian and European experts and will be a valuable resource for all medical practitioners who deal with spinal infection, including radiologists, rheumatologists and orthopedic surgeons.

Download or read book Algodystrophy written by P. Doury and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is with great pleasure and ,much interest that I accepted to write the foreword to this book by Paul Doury, Yves Dirheimer, and Serge Pattin on the subject of "algodystrophy." First, because I know the extent of their personal experience, from which they have selected the best for this book. Second, because it seemed to me that their detailed analysis of the numerous works on the subject, works which have been published all over the world and which provide diverse physiopathologic interpretations, would provide a comprehensive study meeting a real need. Algodystrophy, to adopt the term used by the authors, merits rheumatolog ists' careful attention. It is indeed a frequent condition and, as is now well known, occurs in the most varied etiologic circumstances; it is not solely posttraumatic, a notion on which diagnosis had long been based. This variable etiology suggests the complexity of algodystrophy's pathogenic mechanism.

Book Imaging of Soft Tissue Tumors

    Book Details:
  • Author : Arthur M DeSchepper
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-03-09
  • ISBN : 3662078597
  • Pages : 645 pages

Download or read book Imaging of Soft Tissue Tumors written by Arthur M DeSchepper and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 645 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Only with the advent of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging have radiologists become familiar with this uncommon pathology. The emphasis here is on MRI, as it guarantees the most accurate diagnosis of soft tissue tumours. Because of their rarity, multi-centric studies are necessary to collect statistically relevant numbers of these tumours and so assess the value of new imaging techniques in their detection, staging, grading, tissue characterisation, and post-treatment follow-up. This is a reflection of the work of a prestigious European study group of more than 30 such co-investigators - including experts on medical imaging - who collected more than 800 documented and histologically proven cases of soft tissue tumours. For each tumour type, 10-12 cases are shown, supported by 3-4 photos. Unsurpassed in its collection of case studies.
