Initialement réservée aux communications à longue distance, par réflexion des ondes sur l'ionosphère, la bande HF est beaucoup utilisée en radar pour la détection de cibles au-delà de l'horizon radioélectrique. La performance de tels systèmes est conditionnée par la connaissance précise du champ électromagnétique rayonné par les antennes. Les dimensions métriques de ces émetteurs interdisent une mesure directe, in situ, du champ électrique rayonné par l'antenne en zone de champ lointain. Par ailleurs, les modes de propagation, par onde de ciel et par onde de surface, associés aux antennes HF, sont très dépendants de leur environnement. L'objectif est, ici, de définir une méthode de caractérisation d'antennes HF placées au-dessus d'un sol réel, se basant sur une mesure du champ rayonné par la source sur une surface fermée en zone proche. Nous proposons donc deux méthodes de caractérisation d'antenne. La première méthode est issue d'une décomposition modale du champ pour laquelle le sol est pris en compte par la définition d'un coefficient de réflexion. Puis, par le biais d'une expression asymptotique des modes du champ, nous déterminons le champ lointain de l'antenne. La seconde approche utilise une méthode de moments pour déterminer les sources équivalentes modélisant l'antenne sous test. Ces sources équivalentes sont des dipôles électriques élémentaires, verticaux et horizontaux, dont le rayonnement, en champs électrique et magnétique, a été déterminé, de façon analytique, par Peter Bannister. Une méthode de régularisation est associée afin d'extraire, d'une part, une solution physique au problème, et d'autre part, de rendre le système linéaire moins sensible aux bruits de mesure

The raising deployment of base station antennas for mobile communications has brought some fears on possible health risks. So the evaluation of the field next to the antennas has become a very important tool. This work concern the application of near-field techniques to the rapid determination of both electric and magnetic field near the antenna and the determination of its safety perimeter. The measurement is accomplished on a surface and by numerical processing the field is calculated almost everywhere around the antenna. The work is largely dedicated to the validation of the new technique, by numerical simulations and experimental measurement on commercial base station antennas. So by simple measurement of the electric field on a cylinder we can characterize completely the base station antenna. The calculation of the radiation pattern is made by a standard near-field to far-field transformation, and the evaluation of the safety perimeter is made by the developed near-field to near-field transformation. The time needed to completely characterize an antenna is brought to legs than two hours or a minute with a probe array. The truncation error is largely analyzed and an extrapolation technique to reduce these error is tested.

Nous nous sommes intéressés tout d'abord à une antenne verticale centrée sur l'axe du trou, et nous avons montré l'influence de l'interface forage-sol sur les caractéristiques d'adaptation et sur le champ lointain; une étude comparative avec une antenne excentrée a été faite par la suite. Les performances sont optimales lorsque les champs parasites sont minimisés; le comportement du réflecteur peut alors être évalué par une méthode rapide en lancer de rayon (optique géométrique). Les conclusions sont alors appliquées au modèle réel, qui ne peut être étudié par FDTD: espace mémoire et temps de calcul prohibitifs. Nous présentons le design d'une chambre anéchoïque de BCMA : répartition d'absorbants pyramidaux et dièdres, selon l'incidence du rayonnement. Enfin, nous établissons une première étape de validation de la base en bande K et KA. Des cornets standards sont mesurés en rayonnement et gain, en parallèle dans les BCMA du CREAPE et du CNES.
