Book Cannabis Vaporizer For Beginners And Dummies

Download or read book Cannabis Vaporizer For Beginners And Dummies written by Barbara Dawson and published by . This book was released on 2020-10-06 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whіlе the word іѕ ѕtіll оut оn whether vaping іѕ rеаllу 100% ѕаfе, іt іѕ wіdеlу thought to be muсh ѕаfеr than ѕmоkіng. Thе rеаѕоn for thіѕ is that аlmоѕt all оf the hаrmful ѕubѕtаnсеѕ that уоu gеt frоm smoking are рrоduсеd bу the соmbuѕtіоn process, nо mаttеr іf you're burnіng weed оr tobacco. Aѕ vаріng dоеѕn't соmbuѕt your wееd, thеrе іѕ nо ѕmоkе, and therefore far fеwеr tоxіnѕ аnd free rаdісаlѕ than what уоu іnhаlе frоm your jау. Tоbассо ѕmоkе сеrtаіnlу contains hіgh levels оf carcinogens (сhеmісаlѕ thаt саuѕе cancer), whісh іѕ whу іt has аmаѕѕеd such infamy оvеr thе уеаrѕ. But unfоrtunаtеlу, іt'ѕ likely thаt the ѕmоkе frоm саnnаbіѕ mіght аlѕо соntаіn thеѕе соmроundѕ, аlbеіt роtеntіаllу іn ѕmаllеr аmоuntѕ. Moreover, ѕmоkе іѕ known tо contain tаr аnd cause іѕѕuеѕ іn the lungѕ, mаkіng thіѕ mеthоd of саnnаbіѕ intake еxtrеmеlу unѕuіtаblе for thоѕе with соndіtіоnѕ rеlаtеd to lung health. In a ѕtudу реrfоrmеd on marijuana smoking, thе Amеrісаn Lung Aѕѕосіаtіоn fоund thаt weed ѕmоkе may rеlеаѕе even mоrе tаr іntо thе body аѕ соmраrеd tо tоbассо ѕmоkіng. This рrіmаrіlу соmеѕ dоwn tо thе fact that саnnаbіѕ ѕmоkеrѕ nоrmаllу іnhаlе dеереr аnd longer thаn сіgаrеttе smokers. Bу ѕwіtсhіng tо vaping, уоur lungѕ are іmmеdіаtеlу at a muсh lower threat of аdvеrѕе оutсоmеѕ. A 2007 study рublіѕhеd in thе Hаrm Rеduсtіоn Jоurnаl fоund thаt vароrіzіng саnnаbіѕ саn reduce rеѕріrаtоrу рrоblеmѕ that саn otherwise bе саuѕеd bу smoking mаrіjuаnа. The hеаlth rіѕkѕ аѕѕосіаtеd wіth ѕmоkіng are еnоugh in thеmѕеlvеѕ to соnvіnсе mаnу іndіvіduаlѕ tо switch to vаріng. But аѕіdе frоm thе lоng-tеrm оutсоmеѕ, mаnу ѕіmрlу find vаріng to bе a ѕmооthеr, lеѕѕ dіrtу, аnd mоrе enjoyable еxреrіеnсе fоr thе bоdу in thе ѕhоrt-tеrm. Just mаkе sure уоu rеgulаrlу сlеаn your vape. The active compounds іn cannabis are vеrу sensitive. By аdmіnіѕtеrіng cannabinoids, tеrреnеѕ, еtс. іntо thе bоdу vіа ѕmоkе, you burn off more than hаlf оf thеѕе compounds before you еvеn tаkе a full рuff frоm уоur joint. Yоu lоѕе аnоthеr 15-20% оf thе good ѕtuff аѕ your bud burns bеtwееn draws. Thіѕ mаkеѕ ѕmоkіng саnnаbіѕ extremely inefficient. Since thе tеmреrаturеѕ involved wіth vaporizing аrе muсh lоwеr, аnd often muсh mоrе ѕресіfіс, thе асtіvе compounds аrе not оnlу рrеѕеrvеd, but utіlіѕеd tо thеіr full роtеntіаl. Aѕ a rеѕult, your саnnаbіѕ vapor will bе purer аnd mоrе роtеnt-аnd you will nоt bе wasting as muсh оf your bud. Hence, vаріng wіll аlѕо help save уоu mоnеу оvеr tіmе.

Book The Science of Medical Cannabis

Download or read book The Science of Medical Cannabis written by David S. Younger and published by . This book was released on 2018-11-14 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The cultural, scientific and legislative divide created by vigorous debates over the legalization of medical marijuana is giving way to a new synergy among community stakeholders across the United States. The goal is to improve access to medical marijuana for patients with refractory debilitating neurological disorders, cancer, and chronic pain as an alternative to ineffective pharmacotherapy and potentially addictive pain medications. The ultimate test of our nations resolve to ensure the welfare of our sickest patients is the enactment and implement of effective public health reform in the area of medical marijuana, also known as medical cannabis. This book evolved out of the present need for a definitive volume on the science and public health aspects of medical cannabis to fuel this national narrative. The ethnographic research presented in the concluding chapter was inspired by Professor Miriam W. Boeri and colleagues, at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. They examined views of community stakeholders including medical marijuana dispensary entrepreneurs, health care professionals, and patients in a state that legalized medical marijuana in 2013, yet there continued to be confusion and misunderstandings in the interpretation and implementation of medical marijuana guidelines during the period of policy shifts. Apparent gaps in policy development and implementation signaled the urgency for a comparison study addressing stakeholder views in New York State, where its medical marijuana program has legally dispensed the drug since 2014. The resulting pilot study was carried out in the Division of Health Policy and Management of the City University of New York School of Public Health. The research model incorporated ethnographic and grounded methodologies to detail the views of physicians, pharmacists, educators, patients, and entrepreneur stakeholders; with triangulation of data and application of dominant themes into a socioecological framework model to identify areas of public health policy reform. The findings of this study detail that New York, like other states that recently legalized the dispensation of medical marijuana, faces challenges beyond policy transparency, communication and education explicitly to improve the implementation process for applying and registering medical cannabis dispensaries, referring physicians, and qualified patient recipients.Ken Langone, Chairman of the Board of New York University Langone Health, and Steven Galetta, Chair of Neurology in the School of Medicine, where the authors is senior staff in neuroepidemiology, motivated him to pursue doctoral training in Health Policy and Management. The author has had the good fortune of interacting with thought-provoking medical students, neurology trainees, public health doctoral students, and professors who reinforce the high ethical standards in medical and public health practice and research. However, his patients still educate him in empathy and humanity. The author is grateful to his family, including his spouse Holly and sons Adam and Seth, who serve as his daily compass, encouraging him to take on projects that promote core values of medicine and humanity.

  • Author : Ernest Small
  • Publisher : CRC Press
  • Release : 2016-10-14
  • ISBN : 1315350599
  • Pages : 543 pages

Download or read book Cannabis written by Ernest Small and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-10-14 with total page 543 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cannabis sativa is best known as the source of marijuana, the world’s most widely consumed illicit recreational drug. However, the plant is also extremely useful as a source of stem fiber, edible seed oil, and medicinal compounds, all of which are undergoing extremely promising research, technological applications, and business investment. Indeed, despite its capacity for harm as a recreational drug, cannabis has phenomenal potential for providing new products to benefit society and for generating extensive employment and huge profits. Misguided policies, until recently, have prevented legitimate research on the beneficial properties of cannabis, but there is now an explosion of societal, scientific, and political support to reappraise and remove some of the barriers to usage. Unfortunately, there is also a corresponding dearth of objective analysis. Towards redressing the limitation of information, Cannabis: A Complete Guide is a comprehensive reference summarizing botanical, business, chemical, ecological, genetic, historical, horticultural, legal, and medical considerations that are critical for the wise advancement and management of cannabis in its various forms. This book documents both the risks and benefits of what is indisputably one of the world’s most important species. The conflicting claims for medicinal virtues and toxicological vices are examined, based mainly on the most recent authoritative scientific reviews. The attempt is made consistently to reflect majority scientific opinion, although many aspects of cannabis are controversial. Aside from the relevance to specialists, the general public should find the presentation attractive because of the huge interest today in marijuana. Unfortunately, society has become so specialized and compartmentalized that most people have limited appreciation of the importance of science to their lives, except when a topic like marijuana becomes sensationalized. This review of cannabis can serve as a vehicle for public education in the realm of science and technology. Indeed, towards the goal of disseminating the important information in this book to a wide audience, the presentation is user-friendly, concise, and well-illustrated in the hope that non-specialists will find the topics both informative and entertaining.
