Book Becoming an Effective Supervisor

Download or read book Becoming an Effective Supervisor written by Jane Campbell and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-08-21 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A practical, hands-on workbook, Becoming an Effective Supervisor neatly fills the gap in supervision resources available to mental health practitioners. The workbook is designed to help clinical counselors and therapists create effective supervision programs of their own, and to address the individual needs of their students. The leading contemporary models of supervision are discussed, as well as the necessary components of a successful supervision curriculum. A framework is then provided for counselors and therapists to develop a personalized and highly effective supervisory style to implement with their own students. The unique exploration exercises in each chapter allow readers to actively integrate the information provided, and to apply these lessons and skills to their own supervisory experiences. Students too will benefit from her concise examination of the theories, applications, and goals of the supervision process. Along with a discussion of the ethical, legal, and multicultural issues faced by clinical supervisors, practical analyses and applications ensure that this book will be a valued addition to any clinical counseling or therapy library.

Download or read book Disability Politics written by Jane Campbell and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-01-11 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This powerful book presents a series of perspectives on the process of self-organisation of disabled people which has taken place over the last thirty years. The 1980s saw a transformation in our understanding of the nature of disability, and consequently the kinds of policies and services necessary to ensure the full economic and social integration of disabled people. At the heart of this transformation has been the rise in the number of organisations controlled and run by disabled people themselves. Through a series of interviews with disabled people who have been centrally involved in the rise of the disability movement, the authors present a new collective history which throws light on the politics of the 1980s, and offers insights into future political developments in the 1990s and on into the twenty-first century.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In her classic tale, Charlotte Brontë introduced readers to the strong-willed and intelligent Jane Eyre. Picking up where Brontë left off, Jane’s life has settled into a comfortable pattern: She and her beloved Edward Rochester are married and have an infant son. But Jane soon finds herself in the midst of new challenges and threats to those she loves… Jane can’t help but fret when a letter arrives from Adèle Varens—Rochester’s ward, currently at boarding school—warning that the girl’s life is in jeopardy. Although it means leaving her young son and invalid husband, and despite never having been to a city of any size, Jane feels strongly compelled to go to London to ensure Adèle’s safety. But almost from the beginning, Jane’s travels don’t go as planned—she is knocked about and robbed, and no one believes that the plain, unassuming Jane could indeed be the wife of a gentleman; even the school superintendent takes her for an errant new teacher. But most shocking to Jane is the discovery that Adèle’s schoolmate has recently passed away under very suspicious circumstances, yet no one appears overly concerned. Taking advantage of the situation, Jane decides to pose as the missing instructor—and soon uncovers several unsavory secrets, which may very well make her the killer’s next target…

Book Jane Austen and Performance

Download or read book Jane Austen and Performance written by Marina Cano and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-01-22 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first exploration of the performative and theatrical force of Austen’s work and its afterlife, from the nineteenth century to the present. It unearths new and little-known Austen materials: from suffragette novels and pageants to school and amateur theatricals, passing through mid-twentieth-century representations in Scotland and America. The book concludes with an examination of Austen fandom based on an online survey conducted by the author, which elicited over 300 responses from fans across the globe. Through the lens of performative theory, this volume explores how Austen, her work and its afterlives, have aided the formation of collective and personal identity; how they have helped bring people together across the generations; and how they have had key psychological, pedagogical and therapeutic functions for an ever growing audience. Ultimately, this book explains why Austen remains the most beloved author in English Literature.

Book New Jersey Marriage Records 1665 1800

Download or read book New Jersey Marriage Records 1665 1800 written by William Nelson and published by . This book was released on 1900 with total page 824 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is perhaps the most frequently consulted book in New Jersey genealogy. It was originally published in 1900 as Vol. XXII of the Archives of the State of New Jersey, and it remains today the principal authority on early New Jersey marriages. All told it contains approximately 30,000 entries (15,000 marriages), giving place of residence and date of marriage. The bulk of the work derives from marriage bonds and licenses formerly located in the Secretary of State's office but now on file in the New Jersey State Library. The balance--perhaps an additional 5,000 entries--were extracted from the marriage records of churches and counties in New Jersey. For the sake of simplicity the marriages are arranged in two alphabets, male and female.
