Book Called to Marketplace Discipleship

Download or read book Called to Marketplace Discipleship written by Okoro Chima Okereke and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The thrust of the message of this book is that the individual Christian, who walks daily under the guidance and discipline of the Holy Spirit, studies and obeys daily the word of God in the Bible, will not succumb to the corruption at the workplace or at home. Rather, the person will become an instrument of righteousness for the edification and constructive development of their community and nation. In the Bible, we read about Daniel, Joseph, Esther, and other professionals who were a blessing to their respective societies as the Lord used them because they walked with Him irrespective of their circumstances and behaviours of people around them. Today, the Lord is calling us to become Daniels, Josephs and Esthers so that He will use us in righteousness to exalt our corners of His world, that is our communities and nations, to the glory of His Name. That is the challenge of the book.

However, Jesus called us to make disciples. Let us attract others to Jesus by the way we live and love. In this book, you will learn: - How Jesus made disciples, modeling His command for us to do the same - How the gospel may have been distorted over history, leading to the way we do church today, requiring us to renew our minds - How to be a disciple of Jesus who makes other disciples by meeting the lost where they are Join the global movement of making disciples through life-on-life relationships at https: //www.prayertents.com

Book Our Highest Calling Study Guide

Download or read book Our Highest Calling Study Guide written by Sang Sur and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-18 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Study Guide for Our Highest Calling Make disciples of all nations as you are going, baptizing, and teaching. -Matthew 28:19-20 The Great Commission is a way of life. It is something to be carried out as one is going about. It is not a one-time evangelistic event. It is a call to make disciples as we live out our lives. In our modern-day, Christians have fallen prey to the trends of the world, including idolizing busyness and individualism, which are counter to the love that God called us to share and the community we are to be. The center of focus of the Early Church was love toward God and others, which fulfilled the Greatest Commandment. Our Highest Calling is about how to live out that life, and it is through discipleship that we can make disciples in our lives. Discipleship is a practice of love with other close-knit Christian brothers and sisters over time. It is about being available for one another and pursuing God-given callings together for the kingdom of God. As Christians grow in discipleship and form deep relationships, they will, in turn, make disciples who genuinely love God. They can then walk together and make even more disciples, just as Jesus and His disciples did throughout their lives.

A tool to help readers draw close to Jesus, it presents discipleship as a way of life centred on the journey back to God – a journey that integrates the quest for salvation, wholeness, and human fulfilment. Ultimately, the invitation to discipleship is an invitation to live in obedience to God and commitment to our fellow human beings, as Christ calls his followers not only to their own transformation but to participate in the transformation of others. At a time when secular culture is rediscovering the benefits of discipleship, this book invites readers into a powerful experience of identity formation based on the values of Christ and his kingdom.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you ask someone to do a job, you must first tell them what the job is and give a job description. Otherwise they might get partway into the job and decide this wasnt what they had in mind and quit. The last thing Jesus did before going back to heaven was to give every believer a job to do: make disciples. This book details what it means to be a disciple and gives a thorough job description so that we will know what to expect in fulfilling our duties. Matthew 5:12 says, And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them. The kingdom of God operates in a specific way and cannot be altered to fit our way of doing things. Jesus wanted anyone who accepted His call to know how to do it right. So He had to teach them.
