Book Calculation of Unsteady Transonic Aerodynamics for Oscillating Wings with Thickness

Download or read book Calculation of Unsteady Transonic Aerodynamics for Oscillating Wings with Thickness written by S. Y. Ruo and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An analytical approach is presented to account for some of the nonlinear characteristics of the transonic flow equation for finite thickness wings undergoing harmonic oscillation at sonic flight speed in an inviscid, shock-free fluid. The thickness effect is accounted for in the analysis through use of the steady local Mach number distribution over the wing at its mean position by employing the local linearization concept and a coordinate transformation. Computed results are compared with that of the linearized theory and experiments. Based on the local linearization concept, an alternate formulation avoiding the limitations of the coordinate transformation method is presented.

Book Theoretical Study of Air Forces on an Oscillating Or Steady Thin Wing in a Supersonic Main Stream

Download or read book Theoretical Study of Air Forces on an Oscillating Or Steady Thin Wing in a Supersonic Main Stream written by Isadore Edward Garrick and published by . This book was released on 1947 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper constitutes a theoretical study of the aerodynamic forces on an oscillating or steady wing of finite span moving forward at a uniform supersonic speed. The treatment is based on the linearized theory obtained by considering only small disturbances in an ideal fluid. The wing is therefore considered to be a nearly flat thin surface at a small angle of attack and the flow is considered non- viscous and free of strong shocks. The theory in this case is equivalent to finding certain solutions of the wave equation in three dimensions with respect to a moving coordinate system.

Book The Theory of Diffusion in Strained Systems

Download or read book The Theory of Diffusion in Strained Systems written by Louis A. Girifalco and published by . This book was released on 1959 with total page 1082 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A general theory of solid-state diffusion in strained systems is developed on a molecular-kinetic basis. The theory predicts that for simple strains the diffusion coefficient is an exponential function of the lattice parameter and that the rate of change of the diffusion coefficient with strain is linearly related to the interatomic forces. It has also been shown that for plastic flow the diffusion coefficient is a linear function of strain rate. All the conclusions are confirmed by the data available in the literature.
