Book Calcul de L ecoulement Moyen Dans Une Roue de Turbomachine Axiale Calculation of the Mean Flow in an Axial Turbomachine Row

Download or read book Calcul de L ecoulement Moyen Dans Une Roue de Turbomachine Axiale Calculation of the Mean Flow in an Axial Turbomachine Row written by Jean-Pierre Veuillot and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The paper aims at determining, within the restriction of some simplifying assumptions, the velocity field induced by a blade row in an axial turbomachine. For a very large number of blades one is led to solve, as a first approximation, a system of non-linear partial derivative equations where appear the functions for blade camber line, meridian stream function, and circulation. An iterative numerical algorithm permits to solve this problem and to obtain the sample results presented. (Author).

Book Worked Examples in Turbomachinery

Download or read book Worked Examples in Turbomachinery written by S. L. Dixon and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-23 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Worked Examples in Turbomachinery (Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics) is a publication designed to supplement the materials in Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics of Turbomachinery, Second Edition. The title provides detailed solution for the unanswered problems from the main textbook. The text first covers dimensional analysis, and then proceeds to tackling thermodynamics. Next, the selection discusses two-dimensional cascades. The text also talks about axial flow turbines and compressors, along with the three-dimensional flow in axial turbo machines. Chapter 7 covers centrifugal compressor and pumps, while Chapter 8 tackles radial flow turbines. The book will be of great use to students of mechanical engineering, particularly those who have access to the main textbook.

Book Two dimensional Flow on General Surfaces of Revolution in Turbomachines

Download or read book Two dimensional Flow on General Surfaces of Revolution in Turbomachines written by John D. Stanitz and published by . This book was released on 1952 with total page 734 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A method of analysis is developed for two dimensional flow on general surfaces of revolution in turbomachines with arbitrary blade shapes. The method of analysis is developed for steady, compressible, nonviscous, irrotational flow that is assumed uniform normal to the surfaces of revolution. Incompressible solutions on a mean surface of revolution between the hub and shroud are presented for four rates through each of two centrifugal impellers with the same hub-shroud contours but with different blade spacings. In addition, correlation equations are developed whereby the velocity components and the stream function distribution can be predicted for compressible or incompressible flow in straight-blade impellers only, with any tip speed, flow rate, area variation, blade spacing, and for any flow surface of revolution.

Book Turbomachinery

Download or read book Turbomachinery written by Marco Gambini and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-09-17 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a selection of preliminary sizing procedures for turbomachinery. Applicable to both conventional and non-conventional fluids, these procedures enable users to optimize the kinematics, thermodynamics and geometry of the turbomachinery (in the preliminary design phase) using geometric correlations and losses models; to accurately predict the efficiency of turbomachinery – in most cases, in excellent agreement with CFD calculations; and to consistently analyze all turbomachines (axial and radial turbines, axial and centrifugal compressors, centrifugal pumps). The book is intended for bachelor's and master's students in industrial, mechanical and energy engineering, as well as researchers and professionals in the energy systems and turbomachinery sectors, guiding them step by step through the first sizing of turbomachines and the verification of the technological feasibility of turbomachines designed for new conversion systems operating with unconventional fluids.
