This book was released on 2018-04-25 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century. ++++ The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book written so people could get to know more about who Cain was, as most only know him as the man who killed his brother Abel. The book engages in a plausible forensic study of Cain's character and explores his humanity. This study is not dogmatic but provides probability to help determine who he may have been and how his life has impacted many. The writers used Scriptures to aid in mapping a possible psyche which led to the following questions: Was there a sibling rivalry? Was there possible animosity or jealousy? What was his childhood like, and how did he relate to his other siblings? Most importantly, what kind of relationship did he have with his twin brother, Abel? This book is not written as a rewrite of biblical Scripture or to create sympathy for Cain but written to explore his conceivable personality. Here is the case for Cain. You be the judge.

Book The Book of Adam and Eve Also Called the Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan

Download or read book The Book of Adam and Eve Also Called the Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan written by S. C. Malan and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-07-14 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book tells much that will be new to most readers-was probably written in Arabic in Egypt; whence it was taken farther south, and translated into Ethiopic. At all events no Greek or Egyptian original of it, is, as yet, known to exist; neither does it betray the least vestige of Hellenism. The Ethiopic text is irregularly divided in sections, -some of great length, owing to the subject in hand, -I thought more convenient to divide my translation into Books, and chapters, some of which have the same headings as those given in the text. Book 1-Takes in the whole life of Adam and Eve, from the day they left Eden; their dwelling in the Cave of Treasures; their trials and temptations; Satan's manifold apparitions to them, and the Word of God coming to comfort and help them. Then the birth of Cain, of Abel, and of their twin sisters; Cain's love for his own twin sister, Luluwa, whom Adam and Eve wished to join to Abel; hence Cain's hatred and murder of his brother; and Adam's sorrow and death. Book 2-Gives the history of the patriarchs who lived before the Flood; the dwelling of the children of Seth on the Holy Mountain-Mount Hermon-until they were lured by Genun and by the daughters of Cain, to come down from the mountain; and as "fallen angels," to lose God's love for them. Then Cain's death, when slain by Lamech the blind; and the lives of the other patriarchs, until the birth of Noah. Book 3-Gives the history of the building of the ark; of the Flood, of the settlement of Noah and his family; and of the carrying of the body of Adam to "the Middle of the Earth;" the growth of idolatry under Nimrud; the destruction of idols; and the call of Abraham. Book 4-Gives a short history of the patriarchs, judges and kings, from Abraham to the coming of Christ. S. C. Malan

Download or read book Cain written by Lord Lord Byron and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-07-19 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cain is a dramatic work by Byron published in 1821. In Cain, Byron attempts to dramatize the story of Cain and Abel from Cain's point of view. Cain is an example of the literary genre known as closet drama. The play commences with Cain refusing to participate in his family's prayer of thanksgiving to God. Cain tells his father he has nothing to thank God for because he is fated to die. As Cain explains in an early soliloquy, he regards his mortality as an unjust punishment for Adam and Eve's transgression in the Garden of Eden, an event detailed in the Book of Genesis. Cain's anxiety over his mortality is heightened by the fact that he does not know what death is. At one point in Act I, he recalls keeping watch at night for the arrival of death, which he imagines to be an anthropomorphic entity. The character who supplies Cain with knowledge of death is Lucifer.

Book excerpt: "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15) It is the dawn of human history. The entire human race consists of one family: Adam, Eve and their three children. Their sons, Cain and Abel, and daughter, Naomi, are on the cusp of adulthood and know nothing of fear or sorrow. But that happiness is shattered when they discover why their parents were banished from the Garden of Eden. What's more, the Creator has emerged after long silence, commanding Cain to offer Him a sacrifice... What follows is a tale of romance and heartbreak; of brotherly love and treachery; of desire, despair and ever fragile hope; as Cain sets out to fulfill his greatest desire: to kill Nahash, the Great Serpent who overthrew his parents, and bring humanity back to Eden.

Book excerpt: And in the days of Nimrod, the mighty man (or giant), a fire appeared which ascended from the earth, and Nimrod went down, and looked at it, and worshipped it, and he established priests to minister there, and to cast incense from it. From that day the Persians began to worship fire...-from "The Fourth Thousand Years"One of the most prolific and respected Egyptologists of the Victorian era, Budge here offers his translation of the 4th-century A.D. A. WALLIS BUDGE (1857-1934) was curator of Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities at the British Museum from 1894 to 1924. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Angelic Conflict rages around us. This is not a world war. This is a war beyond the world—an invisible warfare between the forces of Satan and the forces of God. Ultimately God will win. Long before the advent of human history, Satan arrogantly rebelled against his Creator. He wanted to make himself “like the Most High” and recruited one-third of the angels to follow him. God justly condemned Satan and his fallen angels to spend eternity in the lake of fire. Satan appealed the sentence, claiming unfairness—questioning how a loving God could cast His creatures into hell. Planet Earth is now the battleground where Satan seeks to outmaneuver God, prove the judgment unfair, and foil the execution of his sentence. Satan will not suffer defeat without an intense struggle. God created man to resolve this angelic conflict. Human volition is the focal point of the firestorm. Will man choose God’s grace plan of salvation or follow the arrogant system of Satan? Through the freewill decisions of mankind, God proves to Satan His perfect justice and love again and again. As believers, it is imperative we understand this spiritual warfare that surrounds us. Satan uses every ruse at his command to derail and discredit those who are in Christ. For our defense, God has provided an overwhelming advantage in a powerful suit of spiritual armor. With it we can withstand the “flaming missiles of the evil one” and become heroes in the invisible war. God is glorified as we lock shields and stand firm on His power and Word.
