Book Cable suspended Roofs

Download or read book Cable suspended Roofs written by Prem Krishna and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The system of supporting large span roofs using high strength steel cables had been adopted since the 1950s and was well developed by the 1970s when the original edition of Cable Suspended Roofs, authored by Prem Krishna, was published in 1978. The intervening 35 years witnessed the gradual evolution of cable roof structures with exquisite aesthetic appearance, and a wide range of spans and applications. There have also been developments in analytical approaches and software packages, besides materials of construction, particularly fabrics, motivating this updated edition co-authored by PN Godbole. Updating the knowledge in the original edition, this volume deals with static and dynamic analysis, model studies, design, construction materials and examples on simple and pretensioned, air supported as well as fabric, roofs. The book also includes description of computer software which can be used for the static or dynamic analysis of cable assemblies of any configuration, using the 'tension coefficient' or the finite element approach. The software can be accessed by the reader through a link.

Book Introduction to Cable Roof Structures

Download or read book Introduction to Cable Roof Structures written by Hans Anton Buchholdt and published by Thomas Telford. This book was released on 1999 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of this book provides structural engineers with a concise introduction to the architectural, structural and technological aspects of cable roofs, and supplies sufficient information for engineers to carry out their own designs. The improved methods for generating wind and earthquake histories have been included as the trend in modern design codes seem increasingly to require that dynamic response of other forms of non-linear structures such as guyed masts is considered at the design stage.

Download or read book Statics of Suspension Cable Roofs written by Jaroslav Kadlcak and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1995-01-01 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suspension cable roofs are forward-looking and economically advantageous structures for large spans, but they can also be successfully applied in various civil structures of smaller ground plan dimensions. This book takes the reader from a general introduction to the basic concepts, history and types of suspension roofs, to a series of analyses of various applications of suspension cables and the theory behind them.
