Book Business and Regulatory Issues of Solar Photovoltaic Generation in the State of Florida U S

Download or read book Business and Regulatory Issues of Solar Photovoltaic Generation in the State of Florida U S written by Gustavo Coronel and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Risk Management for Utility Scale Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants in the State of Florida

Download or read book Risk Management for Utility Scale Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants in the State of Florida written by Ehsan Nasri and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is estimated that adding solar PVs to the portfolio of a utility's energy generating assets could reduce the associated average Risk Priority Numbers. However, adding solar PVs can worsen the effect of two risks: power-generation-new-technology risk and risks associated with vandalism and theft. Adding 20% of solar PVs to each energy-generating portfolio could reduce the overall average risk RPN of utility by almost 12%. Among all four investor-owned utilities in Florida, Gulf Power has the highest overall average RPN, followed by Tampa Electric and Progress Energy Florida. Florida Power & Light has the lowest overall risk RPN which means the company is bearing less risk than the other three utilities.

Book Electricity from Renewable Resources

Download or read book Electricity from Renewable Resources written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2010-04-05 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A component in the America's Energy Future study, Electricity from Renewable Resources examines the technical potential for electric power generation with alternative sources such as wind, solar-photovoltaic, geothermal, solar-thermal, hydroelectric, and other renewable sources. The book focuses on those renewable sources that show the most promise for initial commercial deployment within 10 years and will lead to a substantial impact on the U.S. energy system. A quantitative characterization of technologies, this book lays out expectations of costs, performance, and impacts, as well as barriers and research and development needs. In addition to a principal focus on renewable energy technologies for power generation, the book addresses the challenges of incorporating such technologies into the power grid, as well as potential improvements in the national electricity grid that could enable better and more extensive utilization of wind, solar-thermal, solar photovoltaics, and other renewable technologies.

  • Author : Joseph M. Kiesecker
  • Publisher : Island Press
  • Release : 2017-06-15
  • ISBN : 1610917227

Download or read book Energy Sprawl Solutions written by Joseph M. Kiesecker and published by Island Press. This book was released on 2017-06-15 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the next several decades, as human populations grow, the demand for energy will soar. But renewable energy sources have a large energy sprawl--the amount of land needed to produce energy--which can threaten biodiversity. In Energy Sprawl Solutions, scientists Joseph M. Kiesecker and David Naugle provide a roadmap for preserving biodiversity despite the threats of energy sprawl. Their strategy--development by design--identifies and sets aside land where biodiversity can thrive while consolidating development in areas with lower biodiversity value. This contributed volume features case studies from countries around the world, each describing a different energy sector and the way they have successfully maximized biodiversity protection. This book provides a needed guide for elected officials, industry representatives, NGOs and community groups who have a stake in sustainable energy-development planning.
