Book Storms Are Faith s Workout

Download or read book Storms Are Faith s Workout written by R. C. Jette and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2018-10-04 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you struggling with the storms of this life? Do you feel overwhelmed with the constant onslaught? This book is your help to withstand the ambushes of an enemy that wants you to give up your faith. At seventy-one years of age, my life has endured the onslaught of many storms (trials of my faith), and through them I have gained insight as to how to overcome. This book uses scriptural and personal examples. I use a sound biblical foundation to build the chapters. Only the word of God can teach the truth that is needed in this trying and overwhelming time that we live in. The faith of many Christians is being attacked, and they do not know how to rise above. This book is compiled as a result of enduring the attacks that have been directed at me by a cunning and crafty enemy. It is through the storms assailed against me that I have learned how to surmount the ambushes. It is my prayer that my years of endurance will teach others how to do likewise. It will take an effort on their part to read the book to the end, but they should come away with an understanding of God's love, with the knowledge of how to overcome the storms, and how to be standing when the storm has ceased.

Download or read book The Love That Was Meant to Be written by Pastor Darryl Riley and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-11-03 with total page 33 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author of this book come from very humble beginnings, the seventh child of nine children. He was raised to be a God-fearing man, to respect others, and to be a help to all that he could. The inspiration for his book actually came from the woman that he eventually married and later fathered two beautiful children with. The wait has finally ended for him as he was unsure which direction to take, while he was contemplating his next move on what to write about. Then it dawned upon him that his story of love was a very unique story that should be shared with the whole world. Not only is it a story of love and fidelity, but a story of how God can match two people together in a very unique bond. As you read the account, open your heart and mind to the most wonderful steps it takes to find true romance, to what it will take to have a meaningful relationship. The author wished many times that he could find his lovely wife, long before he did. But as the saying goes, better late than never. This book is designed for each individual to do some soul-searching while you seek to find your soul mate. Hope you enjoy reading this book, it will inspire you, and motivate you to be with the one you were meant to be with in life.

Book A Storm Too Soon

Download or read book A Storm Too Soon written by Mike Tougias and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seventy-foot waves batter a torn life raft 250 miles out to sea in one of the world's most dangerous places: the Gulf Stream. Hanging on to the raft are three men: a Canadian, a Brit, and their captain, JP de Lutz, a dual citizen of the United States and France. Their capsized forty-seven-foot sailboat has disappeared below the tempestuous sea. The giant waves repeatedly toss the men out of their tiny vessel, and JP, with nine broken ribs, is hypothermic and on the verge of death. Trying to reach these survivors before it's too late are four brave Coast Guardsmen battling hurricane-force winds in their Jayhawk helicopter. With waves reaching an astounding eighty feet, lowering the helicopter into such chaos will be extremely dangerous. The pilots wonder if they have a realistic chance of saving the sailors or even retrieving their own rescue swimmer. Soon the rescuers find themselves in almost as much trouble as the survivors, facing one life-and-death moment after the next against the towering seas. Also caught in the storm are three other boats, each one in a Mayday situation. Of the ten people on these boats, only six will ever see land again. This middle-grade adaptation of the author's 2014 work of the same title tells the story of the four intrepid Coast Guardsmen who braved this ruthless storm in the hopes of saving them.

Book excerpt: The politics of grief, in an era marked by loss, shows us how we can find our humanity once more. From one of our most vital and far-seeing social critics. Our era is one of significant and substantial loss, yet we barely have time to acknowledge it. The losses range from the personal grief of a single COVID death to the planetary disaster wrought by climate change. We are in an age of unraveling hopes and expectations, of dreams curtailed, of aspirations desiccated. What can we do? This is capitalism’s death phase. It has become clear that the cost of wealth creation for a few is enormous destruction for others. The marginalized and the vulnerable have been feeling the crisis for a long time, but it is increasingly coming for all of us. At the same time, we are denied the means of mourning the futures that are being so brutally curtailed. At such a moment, taking the time to grieve is a radical act. Through in-depth reporting intertwined with memoir, Sarah Jaffe shows how public memorialization has become more than a refusal or a protest: it is a path to imagining a better world. When we are able to mourn the lives, the homes, the worlds we have lost, we are better prepared to fight for a transformed future.
