This book was released on 2020-02-18 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This essay sheds light on the top hacks for how to easily get through a law school and also elucidates why earning a law degree does not warrant the opportunity cost. Moreover, how to make substantial money without being a lawyer is delineated in this essay. Earning a law degree in the digital era is easier than anytime in history. An exorbitant amount of hacks can be leveraged so that that you attain a law degree, such as a JD or LLM, from an accredited university in an expeditious manner with minimal work on your end even though you cannot earn law school course credits through passing DSST nor CLEP exams. In order to finish a law degree program in an expeditious manner, law students can take online law school courses, on-ground law courses at night, weekend law courses, and can even complete law school courses amid the summer semesters so that they can finish at least a year ahead of their peers by maximizing their course load. They can also seek permission from the dean of their law school in order to enroll in more law courses than is typically permitted as the maximum credit hour load. This can allow law students to graduate from their law school program earlier than their peers. Law school programs provide flexible course formats by allowing law students to enroll in online courses, weekend courses, or even night courses. Completing a law school program can be whittled down to a 2 year duration instead of a 3 year time window for the utmost dedicated law students. First and foremost, in order to render law courses less work intensive, law students should capitalize on utilizing online tools. These online tools and software programs will preempt law students from needless squandering thousands of hours of time on manually completing tasks that can be automated. For instance, law students can use online tools, such as Citation Machine and Easy Bib, in order to expeditiously automatically generate APA formatted citations for their reference lists. Second, law students can also utilize other useful online tools, such as various online text spinners, so that they can paraphrase articles in an expeditious manner that they plan on referencing. While online text spinners may be able to instantly rewrite articles, the syntactic changes they make to the articles can be so egregious that they can potentially mandate significant time redacting the rewritten articles on the law student's end. Even though online text spinner can render the rewritten articles fraught with grammatical errors, they can allow someone to save substantial time on paraphrasing an article if they are adept in editing and typically struggle to paraphrase a scholarly article in their own words. Third, law students can utilize software programs, such as Natural Reader and Dragon Professional, in order to assist them with completing assignments in an expeditious manner. Text to speech software programs, such as Natural Reader or Balabolka, have ample voice playback options and can allow students to rapidly read through case studies, articles, and other reading material without having to manually read anything themselves. They can adjust the read speed and have the software programs read the reading material to them at any time, even when they are eating, driving, or traveling. Beyond being able to rapidly read through course reading material with the utilization of text to speech software programs, law students also reap the benefit of being able to better assimilate the reading material when it is being read to them since they do not have to concentrate on reading, but rather can fully focus on comprehending the reading material. Fourth, as per speech to text software programs, law students can utilize programs such as, Dragon Professional Individual or Braina Pro, in order to complete their assignments without having to manually type their essays. In other words, they can monologue their way through their law courses as the speech to text software programs.

  • Author : Richard Michael Fischl

Download or read book Getting to Maybe written by Richard Michael Fischl and published by Carolina Academic Press. This book was released on 1999-05-01 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Professors Fischl and Paul explain law school exams in ways no one has before, all with an eye toward improving the reader’s performance. The book begins by describing the difference between educational cultures that praise students for “right answers,” and the law school culture that rewards nuanced analysis of ambiguous situations in which more than one approach may be correct. Enormous care is devoted to explaining precisely how and why legal analysis frequently produces such perplexing situations. But the authors don’t stop with mere description. Instead, Getting to Maybe teaches how to excel on law school exams by showing the reader how legal analysis can be brought to bear on examination problems. The book contains hints on studying and preparation that go well beyond conventional advice. The authors also illustrate how to argue both sides of a legal issue without appearing wishy-washy or indecisive. Above all, the book explains why exam questions may generate feelings of uncertainty or doubt about correct legal outcomes and how the student can turn these feelings to his or her advantage. In sum, although the authors believe that no exam guide can substitute for a firm grasp of substantive material, readers who devote the necessary time to learning the law will find this book an invaluable guide to translating learning into better exam performance. “This book should revolutionize the ordeal of studying for law school exams… Its clear, insightful, fun to read, and right on the money.” — Duncan Kennedy, Carter Professor of General Jurisprudence, Harvard Law School “Finally a study aid that takes legal theory seriously… Students who master these lessons will surely write better exams. More importantly, they will also learn to be better lawyers.” — Steven L. Winter, Brooklyn Law School “If you can't spot a 'fork in the law' or a 'fork in the facts' in an exam hypothetical, get this book. If you don’t know how to play 'Czar of the Universe' on law school exams (or why), get this book. And if you do want to learn how to think like a lawyer—a good one—get this book. It's, quite simply, stone cold brilliant.” — Pierre Schlag, University of Colorado School of Law (Law Preview Book Review on The Princeton Review website) Attend a Getting to Maybe seminar! Download or read book Navigating Law School s Waters written by Patricia Grande Montana and published by Vandeplas Pub.. This book was released on 2014-02-21 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Law school, particularly the first year, can be a rather intimidating and challenging experience for many students. This book is designed to give students the tools they need to successfully navigate their way through it. It introduces students to the fundamentals of legal analysis and writing and teaches them how to read and brief cases, outline, study, master law school exams, and care for their physical and emotional well-being. In short, it prepares students for every aspect of their journey through law school. Unlike other introduction to law school texts, this book is unique in that it takes a cognitive approach to its instruction. It is premised on the belief that students learn new information best when they have a "schema" or framework that allows them to think logically about the information. Thus, it routinely draws on non-legal examples when introducing new topics and skills, and spends substantial time explaining why law students are expected to read and brief cases, outline, study, and write exam answers the way they are. Additionally, this book builds upon the same core problems throughout, including the chapter exercises, so that students can more easily master the relevant skills. Every concept is illustrated and every chapter includes exercises that encourage students to apply what they have just learned. Accordingly, this book provides more than just written instructions on how to navigate law school's waters. It shows law students how to do so, thereby allowing them to sail smoothly through the experience with great skill and confidence. Patricia Grande Montana is a Professor of Legal Writing at St. John's University School of Law. She earned her B.A. in Political Science and Psychology from Wellesley College (magna cum laude) and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center (cum laude). Before joining the law faculty at St. John's, she was a litigator at Latham & Watkins, concentrating on commercial and intellectual property matters. At St. John's, she teaches Legal Writing and Drafting: Federal Civil Practice. She is also the founder and Director of the Street Law: Legal Education in the Community Program, where law students teach a practical law course to high school students in the community. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts state bar associations. Professor Montana has authored and presented many articles on legal writing theory and pedagogy as well as professional skills instruction.
