Book Fueling Protocol for Gaseous Hydrogen Powered Heavy Duty Vehicles

Download or read book Fueling Protocol for Gaseous Hydrogen Powered Heavy Duty Vehicles written by Fuel Cell Standards Committee and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this document is to provide performance requirements for hydrogen dispensing systems used for fueling 35 MPa heavy duty hydrogen transit buses and vehicles (other pressures are optional). This document establishes the boundary conditions for safe heavy duty hydrogen surface vehicle fueling, such as safety limits and performance requirements for gaseous hydrogen fuel dispensers used to fuel hydrogen transit buses. For fueling light-duty vehicles SAE J2601 should be used.SAE J2601-2 is a performance based protocol document that also provides guidance to fueling system builders, manufacturers of gaseous hydrogen powered heavy duty transit buses, and operators of the hydrogen powered vehicle fleet(s).This fueling protocol is suitable for heavy duty vehicles with a combined vehicle CHSS capacity larger than 10 kilograms aiming to support all practical capacities of transit buses. It is non-prescriptive in how to achieve a full fill or 100% state of charge (SOC) in the vehicle tank storage system. This document is an independent document from SAE J2601 "Fueling Protocols for Light Duty Gaseous Hydrogen Surface Vehicles" and should be used separately. The fueling limits shown in this document are harmonized with the fueling assumptions used for on-board fuel systems, as provided by gaseous hydrogen transit bus manufacturers. When SAE J2601-2 was first published in 2014, there was not a published standard fueling protocol or adopted method for fueling hydrogen powered heavy duty transit buses and heavy duty vehicles. The original intent of this document was to establish the safety limits and performance requirements for 35 MPa hydrogen dispensing systems for refueling transit buses and heavy duty vehicles. However, as the market developed, additional fueling protocols have been published in the SAE J2601 context (for example: CHSS Capacity Category D), and other protocols are being developed as part of SAE J2601-5 and other standards. The users of SAE J2601-2 should consider using protocols developed as the result of recent efforts, as they match current technology capabilities and reflect lessons learned in the field. SAE J2601-2 should only be utilized at non-public access hydrogen stations where the vehicles being fueled are known and appropriate administrative controls are enforced.Users of SAE J2601-2 are also advised that SAE J2601 may contain requirements and considerations that should be applied to fueling protocols developed under SAE J2601-2. It is the responsibility of the fueling protocol developer to ensure that the resulting protocol can be used under all operating conditions for all vehicles and CHSS configurations.

Book Standards Codes and Regulations of Hydrogen Refueling Stations and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles

Download or read book Standards Codes and Regulations of Hydrogen Refueling Stations and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles written by Paula Huertas Gaja and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The origin of the project appears because of the necessity of the "Laboratoire de pile à combustible" of UTBM University to work on the safety and normative aspects of their project. They work on the field of hydrogen refueling station (HRS) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCV). For that reason the objective of this project has been to create an efficient database where all the standards, codes and regulations (International, European, USA, Canadian, French and Spanish) that concerns to their project were collected. In order to reach the final objective, the project begins with a study of hydrogen properties and hazards. This part is very important to understand why hydrogen is considered as a dangerous gas and what is the potential severity of the accidents that it could cause. Then a description of the project parts (hydrogen delivery, hydrogen refueling stations and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles) has been made. In this part, the general characteristics and the principal elements of each one are explained. Before starting with efficient classification of the normative, it has been necessary to do a deep research of all the standards, codes and regulations that concern the project. With them, the first database has been created, where the main information like the title, the abstract, the restrictions and the cost of each one has been collected. Finally, with all this information it has been possible to start with the efficient classification. For that, the two main parts HRS and HFCV have been divided in its different components and all the normative has been organized according to them. A website has been created with the objective of containing all this classification in a useful media where the user can find easily and quickly, and, the most important, from everywhere, all the information that he needs. Moreover, a survey to people from different countries has been made in order to do a social and cultural study about the feelings that people have about HFCV and also to do a normative comparison between standards of different countries and regions, to understand the different perceptions of the hazards.

This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sulfate-reducing bacteria comprise a diverse and ecologically interactive group of anaerobic prokaryotes which share an extraordinary trait: growth by sulfate respiration with hydrogen sulfide as a major end-product. Sulfate-reducers are found in diverse environments ranging from estuaries to geological oil-bearing formations. They have attracted considerable scientific and commercial interest. These organisms have been actively investigated by researchers in microbial energetics, protein chemistry, ecology and more recently molecular biology. This interest has increased greatly over the past decade, and this volume presents the first book-length summary of our knowledge of sulfate-reducing bacteria in nearly 10 years. Featuring an introduction by the eminent microbiologist John Postgate and comprehensive reviews from recognized authorities, this book will be of interest to microbiologists with interests in physiology, evolution, and ecology.

  • Author : Nikolaus H. Fischer
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2012-12-06
  • ISBN : 1468490605
  • Pages : 412 pages

Download or read book Modern Phytochemical Methods written by Nikolaus H. Fischer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains reviews which are based on a symposium, given th at the 30 meeting of The Phytochemical Society of North America, held at Laval University in Quebec City, Canada on August 11-15, 1990. During the past two decades, there have been major new developments in methods which can be applied toward the isolation, separation and structure determination of complex natural products. Therefore, the topic of this symposium, "Modem Phytochemical Methods", is a very timely one. The organizers of the symposium recognized that it would not be possible to cover in detail all new advances in phytochemical methodology. It was therefore decided to emphasize general reviews on recent developments of major separation techniques such as high performance liquid chromatography as well as supercritical fluid chromato graphy. In addition, advances in commonly used structure determination methods, mainly NMR and MS, are reviewed. Other topics include methodo logies of micro-sampling for isolation and analysis of trichome constituents as well as recent breakthroughs on biosynthetic studies of monoterpenes using "enriched" basal cells of trichomes. The volume concludes with a review of quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) studies of biologically active natural products. In Chapter I, K. Hostettmann and his colleagues give a general review of recent developments in the separation of natural products with major emphasis on preparative separations of biologically active plant constituents. The authors present a comparison of droplet countercurrent chromatography (OCCC) with the highly rapid and more versatile centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC).

Book Integration of Pharmaceutical Discovery and Development

Download or read book Integration of Pharmaceutical Discovery and Development written by Ronald T. Borchardt and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-01-19 with total page 627 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the late 1980s, it became painfully evident to the pharmaceutical industry that the old paradigm of drug discovery, which involved highly segmented drug - sign and development activities, would not produce an acceptable success rate in the future. Therefore, in the early 1990s a paradigm shift occurred in which drug design and development activities became more highly integrated. This new str- egy required medicinal chemists to design drug candidates with structural f- tures that optimized pharmacological (e. g. , high affinity and specificity for the target receptor), pharmaceutical (e. g. , solubility and chemical stability), bioph- maceutical (e. g. , cell membrane permeability), and metabolic/pharmacokinetic (e. g. , metabolic stability, clearance, and protein binding) properties. Successful implementation of this strategy requires a multidisciplinary team effort, incl- ing scientists from drug design (e. g. , medicinal chemists, cell biologists, en- mologists, pharmacologists) and drug development (e. g. , analytical chemists, pharmaceutical scientists, physiologists, and molecular biologists representing the disciplines of pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, and pharmacokinetics/drug metabolism). With this new, highly integrated approach to drug design now widely utilized by the pharmaceutical industry, the editors of this book have provided the sci- tific community with case histories to illustrate the nature of the interdisciplinary interactions necessary to successfully implement this new approach to drug d- covery. In the first chapter, Ralph Hirschmann provides a historical perspective of why this paradigm shift in drug discovery has occurred.
