Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TRAUMATIC DENTAL INJURIES: A MANUAL The third edition of Traumatic Dental Injuries: A Manual builds on the widespread success of the previous two editions. The ultimate guide to dental trauma, the manual preserves its uniquely usable and reader-friendly format, demonstrating step-by-step treatment protocols for commonly occurring traumatic injuries. Several new sections have been added to expand the number of clinical scenarios, describing soft tissue injuries associated with dental trauma, showing how decoronation of ankylosed anterior teeth in adolescents can preserve the alveolar process for later implant placement, and identifying predictors for pulpal and periodontal ligament healing complications as well as for tooth loss. A unique feature of the new edition is the accompanying DVD which presents computer animations of all trauma scenarios, as well as links to the internet-based interactive Dental Trauma Guide to predict healing complications for individual trauma scenarios. KEY FEATURES Written by international authorities on dental trauma Demonstrates treatment protocols in a clear step-by-step format Illustrated throughout with high-quality color images and diagrams Includes more sections to expand number of clinical scenarios Accompanied by a new DVD of trauma scenario animations REVIEWS OF PREVIOUS EDITIONS The text is clear and well written and well referenced ... The chapters on diagnosis of periodontal and pulpal complications are particularly helpful as this is a difficult area for many clinicians. The manual will serve as an excellent reference for practitioners and dental students who have a good working knowledge of dental traumatology. Journal of Orthodontics Overall, this book is excellent and I believe would be an essential member of a dentist’s library. It is the sort of book that can be quickly read, and information and guidance can be located easily when the need arises. The price makes the book very affordable and I wholeheartedly recommend it as an essential reference source for the general dentist and dental student. Book Broken Teeth

Download or read book Broken Teeth written by Tony Birch and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poetry. Literary Nonfiction. Native Australian Studies. "Don't think you'll get away with lightly reading these Tony Birch poems. They are not just words whistling on the wind. They come laden with other gifts. With a whole place: Melbourne. Objects proliferate in The Anatomy Contraption sequence, where, in a singular assemblage of technology, modern science and early-twentieth-century eugenicism it is easy to coolly dissect 'three infant hearts' for a cabinet of curiosities, which 'congeals together / like a song.' It makes you wonder what elements must thus congeal to sustain the songs, the poems, across all these pages without once faltering, without missing a beat." Stephen Muecke"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is my desire that the individuals who read this book will go on a journey of self-discovery just like I did. This book is designed for us to understand that our teeth are more important than we realize and that having healthy teeth is the first step toward good health. Discrimination is the end result of prejudice, racism, and the wielding power of the world’s institutions. By institutions, I am referring to those giant buildings that seem to have heavy metal doors that are normally locked from the inside. The keeper of the keys is the system that has been set in place by the institution that allows one group to enter and, by the same token, locks other groups out. Behind the heavy metal doors is a picture on the wall with a perfect smile on it. And if your teeth are straight, white, perfect, and are all present, you will hear a big clinging sound. The dead bolt will slide to the left, and the door will open wide for you. It really does not matter what race you are. Anyone who has this perfect smile is granted the rite of passage in which the criteria have changed over the years. When I set out to write this book, my thoughts were with individuals who were suffering shame and others who were struggling with the plight of missing teeth. If we do not make our teeth a priority in our youth, they will not be around to serve us in our old age. Hopefully, parents reading this book can give their children a better start. My desire is that in the future, after reading this book, we will be more inclined to have compassion and understanding with individuals who are struggling with their dental issues.

Book excerpt: The book weaves you through the battles and sacrifices of a generation for the freedoms that the millennials struggle with even today. A fictional commentary of plots looks at homosexuality, nymphomania, mental health, dowry and women's inheritance from the lens of the protagonist Parvati. She fearlessly fights tyrannical patriarchy on one hand and questionable state institutions on the other which are not only scarring women but also men and society at large. The story, through the metaphor of the broken tooth quests to break the old moulds, takes you through the pas of an inevitable metamorphosis, for the new to bloom. Will Parvati's tattered capè of courage be a beacon of liberation?

Book excerpt: Prosthetic treatment of patients with missing teeth is a vitally important area of practice for dental practitioners, and consequently for all dental students as well. Increasingly complex cases presented by more people keeping some or all teeth into old age, as well as the expanding range of treatment alternatives available, has created a greater demand for fixed prostheses or bridges, removable partial dentures, and prostheses supported by dental implants. All three of these options are now covered in entirety in this comprehensive guide, making it easy for students to acquire treatment planning skills needed for dealing with real patients, beginning with a discussion of tooth loss as the presenting problem and guiding the reader through the available alternatives. Presents an integrated approach to the treatment of the partially edentulate patient, covering all the treatment options available. Helps the reader develop treatment planning skills necessary for approaching complex cases and managing patients. Covers fixed, removable, and implant-supported options for treatment all in one book. Treatment planning sections are enhanced by flow diagrams and illustrated case histories. Full-color illustrations throughout the book.
