Book Bible Records of Suffolk and Nansemond County Virginia

Download or read book Bible Records of Suffolk and Nansemond County Virginia written by Fillmore Norfleet and published by Genealogical Publishing Com. This book was released on 2009-06 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inasmuch as Nansemond County's official records were totally destroyed by fires in 1734, 1779, and 1866, the work at hand, originally published in 1963 and itself now quite scarce, represents a valiant effort to reconstruct something of Nansemond's genealogical heritage from the records of its surrounding counties. The core of the book consists of the contents of nearly 100 Bibles arranged alphabetically according to the surname of the book's owner, and, thereunder, in progressions of marriages, births, and deaths. In all, more than 1,000 mostly 18th- and 19th-century inhabitants of Suffolk and Nansemond are here rescued from obscurity and further made accessible in the index to Bible records at the back. Also includes transcriptions of marriage records and several other miscellaneous lists.

This book was released on 2010-09-10 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What's ahead for the United States and Britain? Is the world's most powerful nation—the United States of America—overlooked in Bible prophecy? Why are relatively small powers like Egypt, Syria and Lebanon mentioned, but no nation recognizable as the United States can be found? What about other major English-speaking nations such as the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia? In fact, many prophecies do mention these nations. But, without a proper understanding of history and the Scriptures, few can identify these countries and understand what lies ahead for them. The Bible study aid booklet, The United States and Britain in Bible Prophecy, takes you on a remarkable journey through history and Bible prophecy to reveal an incredible story with sobering implications for the major English-speaking nations. You can't afford to be without this priceless information. Why have they been blessed so favorably over the nations that preceded them in history? The answer lies in the understanding and fulfillment of biblical prophecy." "God's promise to Abraham was not limited to a small and ancient people in the Middle East. It extends far into the future, and it is not limited by national boundaries." "Where can we find the descendants of Joseph, the lost tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh? This list of blessings eliminates most of the nations of the world as contenders. To find them we must ask: Which nations possess these blessings in our world?" "When we understand that the modern descendants of Joseph are the people of the United States and Britain, we see that over the past three centuries God has been true to His promises." "Though the United States and Britain do not appear in the Bible's prophecies of the end time under their present names, God hasn't ignored these nations. He identifies them in prophecy according to their ancestry. Most people simply haven't known where to look for them."

Book Tennessee Records

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jeannette Tillotson Acklen
  • Publisher : Genealogical Publishing Com
  • Release : 2009-12
  • ISBN : 0806300000
  • Pages : 542 pages

Download or read book Tennessee Records written by Jeannette Tillotson Acklen and published by Genealogical Publishing Com. This book was released on 2009-12 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An encyclopedia of Tennessee genealogy, Acklen's "Bible Records and Marriage Bonds" is one of the foremost Tennessee source-books in print. It consists almost entirely of records of births, marriages, and deaths, plus marriage licenses of Dickson, Knox, Lebanon, and Wilson counties. Sections devoted exclusively to marriages generally run chronologically, giving exact dates and full names of brides and grooms. The bible records, however, offer the most substantial evidence of family connections and, in the manner of such records, are actually organic family records listing names and dates of birth, marriage, and death through several generations, depending, of course, on the extent to which a particular bible was handed on in the family and kept up to date. The work is complemented by a surname index of nearly 15,000 entries.
