He immigrated to the United States in 1796 and settled in Pennsylvania. He married Rebecca Colhoon (1779-1839), daughter of and Esther McDowell Colhoon, in 1806 at Meadville, Pennsylvania. They had seven children, 1807-1819. He died in 1854 at Meadville. Descendants listed lived in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and Massachusetts.
