Book Unconditional Eternal Security

Download or read book Unconditional Eternal Security written by David Cassady and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-07 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perhaps as never before in The Church's history is there a need to return to the message of repentance of sin, obedience to the Word of God, and separation from the world. Sadly, these things are seldom mentioned in today's churches. In my other book entitled "Spiritual Warfare" I exposed some of Satan's counterfeits of the Holy Spirit as well as a discussion on demonology and deliverance. In this book, however, I want to deal with the Doctrine of Unconditional Eternal Security, a doctrine that has lulled countless thousands into a false sense of security. The Doctrine of Unconditional Eternal Security or Once Saved-Always Saved teaches that there is nothing in our conduct and behavior that can cause us to lose our salvation once we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Saviour. One Bible teacher went so far as to say during his teaching series on Eternal Security: "That our obedience to God's Word has nothing to do with our eternal destiny." But does the Bible really teach that? This book is an examination of the Scripture to answer that very question. David Cassady is not a Bible scholar, pastor or teacher. Nor has he been to seminary. He is simply a lay person who is deeply concerned about what he sees happening in and to the body of Christ and wants to help by shedding some light on this very misleading doctrine. He is also the author of a book entitled: "Spiritual Warfare" which deals with religious deception, counterfeits of the Holy Spirit, demonology and deliverance.

Book Women Peace and Security

Download or read book Women Peace and Security written by Joan Johnson-Freese and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-12-01 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers an accessible overview of the issues related to the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) global agenda. This new edition has been updated and includes new chapters on WPS and Environmental Change and on WPS in Regional and Security Organizations. The 2nd edition provides explains Women, Peace and Security as a security framework, different though related to both gender equality as a social justice issue or a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion issue. Within the context of the changing nature of warfare, a complex and volatile global political climate, and through consideration of empirical evidence, it examines the definitions, theoretical underpinnings and methodological challenges associated with implementing WPS. It then discusses with more specificity violence against women, women civilians in war, the role of women in peacemaking, women in the military and in development, and women politicians, with new material on environmental change and on regional and security organisations. Examples and case studies draw from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North and South America. The need for more sex-disaggregated data on every topic is emphasized throughout, necessary to both demonstrate relationships between gender and security and to identify solutions to problems. The book concludes with a look to the future and number of action items from the macro to the micro level. This book will be of much interest to students of peace studies, security studies, gender studies and IR, as well as professional military college students.

Book Security and Global Governmentality

Download or read book Security and Global Governmentality written by Miguel de Larrinaga and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2010-05-21 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines global governance through Foucaultian notions of governmentality and security, as well as the complex intersections between the two. The volume explores how Foucault's understanding of the general economy of power in modern society allows us to consider the connection of two broad possible dynamics: the global governmentalization of security and the securitization of global governance. If Foucault's work on governmentality and security has found resonance in IR scholarship in recent years it is in large part due to his understanding of how these forms of power must necessarily take into account the management of circulation that, in seeking to maximize ‘good’ versus ‘bad’ circulatory flows, brings into play and problematizes the 'inside'/'outside' upon which domestic and international spaces have been traditionally understood. Indeed, Foucault introduces a set of conceptual tools that can inform our analyses of globalization, global governance and security in ways that have been left largely unexplored in the discipline of IR. Miguel de Larrinaga is Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa where he has been teaching since 2002. Marc G. Doucet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Saint Mary’s University.

Book International Security Conflict and Gender

Download or read book International Security Conflict and Gender written by Hakan Seckinelgin and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book challenges the conventional security-based international policy frameworks that have developed for dealing with HIV/AIDS during and after conflicts, and examines first-hand evidence and experiences of conflict and HIV/AIDS. Since the turn of the century international policy agenda on security have focused on HIV/AIDS only as a concern for national and international security, ignoring people’s particular experiences, vulnerabilities and needs in conflict and post-conflict contexts. Developing a gender-based framework for HIV/AIDS-conflict analysis, this book draws on research conducted in Burundi to understand the implications of post-conflict demobilization and reintegration policies on women and men and their vulnerability to HIV/AIDS. By centring the argument on personal reflections, this work provides a critical alternative method to engage with conflict and HIV/AIDS, and a much richer understanding of the relationship between the two. International Security, Conflict and Genderwill be of interest to students and scholars of healthcare politics, security and governance.
