Book The Complete Works of William Shakespeare abridged revised again

Download or read book The Complete Works of William Shakespeare abridged revised again written by Adam Long and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2023-10-15 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally performed by its creators, this 1987 Edinburgh Fringe hit remains the second longest-running West End comedy in history and has been translated into over thirty languages. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is not so much a play as it is a vaudeville show in which three charismatic, wildly ambitious actors attempt to present all thirty-seven of Shakespeare's plays in a single performance. They have a rudimentary concept of the stories and have imperfectly memorized a smattering of famous lines. Backstage there's a meager assortment of costumes and props. Thus armed, the three brazenly launch into their task with an earnest focus and breakneck enthusiasm.

Book Lead Inside the Box

Download or read book Lead Inside the Box written by Victor Prince and published by Red Wheel/Weiser. This book was released on 2015-07-20 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “In times when leaders have to do more with less, this book gives you the tools to elevate your people to new levels of success.” —Andrea Procaccino, Chief Learning Officer, New York-Presbyterian Hospital Every employee is different, but unfortunately many leaders use a one-size-fits-all approach to leading. In doing so, these otherwise well-intentioned leaders are working harder than they should while not getting all they could out of their teams. Lead Inside the Box gives managers way to get the best out of their teams by focusing their energy where it will make the biggest difference. It teaches leaders how to: Figure out where they are currently investing their time and energy across their teams Identify the unique leadership needs of each team member Make smarter decisions about how and where to invest their time and energy to get the best results out of everyone Through simple frameworks brought to life with stories from the trenches, leaders will be able to see their own teams—and themselves—from a new perspective. Paradoxically these methods will enable leaders to improve their team’s performance exponentially while expending half the effort. “Lead Inside the Box provides cogent advice about exactly how to lead from the middle (as well as the top) in ways that enable managers to make good things happen and help the organization prosper.” —John Baldoni, Leadership expert and author of Moxie: The Secret to Bold and Gutsy Leadership “A great fundamental read for every leader no matter what level you are at.” —Rob Miller, Divisional VP, R&D and Scientific & Medical Affairs, Abbott Nutrition

Book Cigar Box Lithographs Vol 3

Download or read book Cigar Box Lithographs Vol 3 written by Charles J. Humber and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2021-07-20 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collecting 100-year-old lithographs attached to the inside lids of wooden cigar boxes is a gratifying hobby. This Jack Minor cigar box imitates a log house, not the typical venue for cigar makers who made plane wooden boxes for their cigar brands. Since the log house box is labelled Jack Miner, one presumes it was made in Canada because Jack Miner, from southwestern Ontario, was world-renowned as a Canadian conservationist banding thousands of migratory geese during his life. Acquired after Volume III of this four-volume series had gone to the printer, this rare cigar box is now displayed on the back cover of Volume III. Made, 1925, by B. R. Hahn, a member of the Isaak Walton League, Bay City, Michigan, this cigar maker wished to salute this Canadian with a custom-made cigar box. There are some 200 Isaak Walton League (see Volume II, page 81) Chapters across the U.S.A.

Book Sociological Insights of Great Thinkers

Download or read book Sociological Insights of Great Thinkers written by Christofer R. Edling and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2010-11-18 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, leading sociologists expand the scope of their discipline by revealing the sociological aspects of the works of great philosophers, scientists, and writers. Sociologists have long recognized that sociological insight can be gleaned from creative thinkers outside their formal discipline. Sociological Insights of Great Thinkers: Sociology through Literature, Philosophy, and Science captures and examines those insights in 32 essays that discuss scholars and writers not normally associated with any sociological school of thought. Following a tradition of enriching the sociological toolkit by finding influence in philosophy and literature, the volume's contributors—an international group of renowned scholars—eschew biography to focus solely on sociological interpretations that can be drawn from the work of many of history's preeminent thinkers. Among the book's subjects are philosophers such as Aristotle, Plato, Kant, and Cassirer; scientists such as Darwin and Galileo; and authors such as Kafka, Proust, and Shakespeare. The essays not only allow readers to see such thinkers in a new light, but underscore the fact that sociological questions have lain at the very heart of humanity throughout history.

Book The Method Acting Exercises Handbook

Download or read book The Method Acting Exercises Handbook written by Lola Cohen and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2016-12-08 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Method Acting Exercises Handbook is a concise and practical guide to the acting exercises originally devised by Lee Strasberg, one of the Method's foremost practitioners. The Method trains the imagination, concentration, senses and emotions to ‘re-create’ – not ‘imitate’ – logical, believable and truthful behavior on stage and in film. Building on nearly 30 years of teaching internationally and at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York and Los Angeles, Lola Cohen details a series of specific exercises in order to provide clear instruction and guidance to this preeminent form of actor training. By integrating Strasberg's voice with her own tried and tested style of teaching, Cohen demonstrates what can be gained from the exercises, how they can inform and inspire your learning, and how they might be applied to your acting and directing practice. As a companion to The Lee Strasberg Notes (Routledge 2010), a transcription of Strasberg's own teaching, The Method Acting Exercises Handbook offers an unparalleled and updated guide to this world renowned technique.
