Book excerpt: At the age of twenty-one, Charlene’s sister, Andrea, along with two other college students were tragically killed in a terrible highway accident that made national news. Working through her grief beside her bereaved parents, tragedy struck again when her mother received a devastating cancer diagnosis. In Brazen Bravery, Charlene tells the story of how she discovered the strength of her family’s rich heritage and deeply rooted Christian faith as she braved the tumultuous waters of grief. Charlene, a natural and captivating storyteller, invites us into her journey, “telling it like it is” with humor, compassion, and an unflappable and inspiring faith. Through journal pages from her sister and mother, along with song lyrics, Bible verses and poignant quotes from favorite authors, her words will remind you that there is always a way through. The truths she holds onto fiercely helped her transcend the pain and made it possible to “believe that life was not just worth living, but worth living well.” Brazen Bravery will not only beckon you to embrace the lessons of loss and ignite your overcomer spirit, but it unwraps biblical truth showing us that the sovereignty of God transcends all brokenness and doubt. And reminds us, once again, that love always wins and life never ends. I have discovered that as the embers of disappointment, pain, and suffocating grief simmer, beauty and love is revealed just underneath. When the flames subside and the ash and soot settle, we start sweeping up the mess and somehow begin recognizing the beauty of the wood at our feet. The intricate design of the grain and the timeless etching of the stress marks. Many people justify spending more money on finely distressed furniture because they see the beauty in its story. And we, who are created through the Master Artist’s hands also show the depths of scarring, beautiful flaws, grief engravings that make us unique and priceless. As hard as it is to adjust and spin the perspective dial, there is purpose beyond the pain. God’s eyes are focused directly on each of us, and His grip is locked. His promise? “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5, NIV) We are overcomers when our response glows with HOPE. A lowlight of peace that sneaks in just under the door. It washes over the sometimes-sad space, softens the scars, and creates something lovely. Something beautiful. A masterpiece! Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love. —A.L. This book was released on 2023-06-05 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a deep yearning inside all of us to bring to light what makes us who we are! In this book, you will encounter literature replete with neurodivergent poetry—akin to 18th century English poet Christopher Smart notable for his visionary power and lyrical virtuosity. You will also discovery a collection of well researched writings, both new and previously published, that explore, debate, celebrate and reaffirm the human spirit and its often pathological and pernicious capacity for antiphonal ruminations and self-inflicted pain, a prismatic portrait of triumph over trauma. It is an articulation of metacognition or self-awareness, an attempt to explore the complexities of man’s inner struggle against the backdrop of Global disharmony mediated by our shared humanity. Ultimately a valiant effort in proffering a favorable outlook for an innovative, adaptive and idyllic prototype: unrestrained love, compassion, understanding and acceptance of our truest selves. From the Prologue of You Are Enough: The Journey to Accepting Your Authentic Self: Why should you read this book when there are many other books with similar titles and subject matter in the saturated literary market place? Well first, I offer multidimensional, multicultural and multilingual perspectives. I put forth a Francophone, Haitian and American frame of mind, being that I am a trilingual speaker of French, Haitian Creole and American English. These cultural influences fused together to bring intriguing elements of reasoned judgments and multiple ways of understanding and expressing ideology. Second, the literature... is not your typical dusty purely academic dissertation on soul searching and self-reckoning. It is a manifestation of soul authenticity in action... a purposeful yet at times playful amalgamation of... poetry, stories, essays, book and theater reviews, and interviews with community leaders and literary figures from MIT and Harvard University...with a connecting theme of personal authenticity: that is being true to one’s self in all aspects of one’s life. It encompasses spirituality, identify, artistic expression, community, resiliency, advocacy, activism and ultimately acceptance of life as is rather than as you wish it to be. Because “The resistance to the unpleasant situation is the root of suffering...” as...said by spiritual guru Ram Dass...

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the true tale of a cherubic angel, born of Scottish, Welsh, and Turkish decent. Early that morning in the middle of a blinding snow storm, with the temperature hovering near zero, the bedlam began. An antiquated oblong oak table in Grandma Lloyd's kitchen, was scrubbed and sanitized in preparation of my exalted arrival, plus being the first grandchild and a boy, held great momentous value! For better or worse, his story is a result of growing up on the rough side of a rough world. After many fights, both amateur and professional, I met an old friend who was in the beauty business. Attracted by the lure of money, I changed my name, got a manicure and became an International Hairdressing Champion. This is a recounting of the adventures of both worlds and the activities and ventures in between, some legitimate and some...well...! It is a true and fascinating story, as one New York writer once penned, "From Ring to Ringlets".

The tarot card depicts the sorcerer from the voodoo stage, and he permeated into an image, with its symbols of the English court. The tragicomedy period (old English) dispelled the notion of the sorcerer being placed between us and our maker. Of course even without the sorcery, forces continued to defy logic. Properties of voodoo, through perspectives, were at the helm. Laws of force were soon accepted by the maturing world. Although these forces have constructs that are not visible, the effects were known to be very consistent. Testing such laws proved reliable to cause and effect. The age of reason brought wisdom, through retrospect, of how we react to the unknown and unexplained. We simply make up what we do not know. However, we do so by taking the perspectives we are granted and reasoning out the realities that lie within. With reality being created from our crooked and unaligned perspectives, our realities pale in comparison to Gods truths. The Romantic Period paired our realizations of reason and logic up against the phenomenon we call emotions. Emotions won hands down. Earlier chronicles of man demonstrate mystery, but the mystics are to the nth power within emotions. The day of the zodiac combines logics and emotions and is depicted by the symbols of civilization. Each past civilization will leave signs of what they most feared and what they most needed (adored). The interrelation of humans is controlled by the celestial constellations, aligning our compatibility to one another. It barely scratches the surface of why we are magnetized to some while we are polarized from others. Charms of Makings caused her end. Makings of charm will set and begin.
