Book Brahman E MC2 Science and the Mystical Secrets of the Universe

Download or read book Brahman E MC2 Science and the Mystical Secrets of the Universe written by James Wallace and published by Allied Publishers. This book was released on 2022-07-22 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our century, the 20th, will complete the two thousandth year after Christ’s appearance. Many students of mysticism and the occult believe that the last years of this century will complete another world cycle in the development of man. Nostradamus was one among many, who prophesied a global catastrophe in the year 1999. Certainly, the growth in scientific knowledge over the last 100 years and the ever increasing pace at which new discoveries are being made, gives one the impression that mankind is trying to catch up on lost time. Physics in particular has undergone some revolutionary changes. Newtonian concepts and ideas though still valid in general terms have been superimposed by what is today popularly known as the New Physics. We are now literally looking into the heart of matter, which despite its solidity is nevertheless recognised as energy that has developed substance on the ‘wings of speed’. In fact, so closely are velocity and mass interlinked that in many experiments it is impossible to distinguish one from the other. Faced with this dilemma even our scientists have begun to philosophize. New theories and concepts that appear bizarre when first encountered by the non-scientist are constantly being brandished in scientific circles, every one of them being supported by algebraic equations. Machines which are four miles long have been constructed to study the behaviours of these tiny subatomic pellets of energy. And it has been found that they are the product of a mysterious void, appearing from and disappearing into nowhere. Further, all subatomic particles appear to be born with a death wish. No sooner are they created, they disintegrate into other more stable particles, as if they were born with the desire to sacrifice themselves for the continued propagation of our material reality.

Book excerpt: In the great debate between the scientific and the spiritual worldviews, Swami Abhayananda has scored an historical blow for the spiritual worldview in The Divine Universe. Utilizing the very theories of contemporary physics and cosmology, he presents a forceful and persuasive argument for an original and ground-breaking vision of our universe as living and Divine. "For those of us trained in science, [the Divine Universe] is both enlightening and inspiring. Consciousness and energy as the Ground of Being are given a coherent and quite rationally plausible gnostic interpretation that should persuade open-minded readers of the limitiations of scientism." --Howard A. Jones, Ph.D., author of The Thoughtful Guide to God, O Books, 2006. "Anyone who has ever felt frustrated by the limitations of science, opened by the hard reality of mystical/nondual experience, inspired by the nondual teachings of Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian traditions, and skeptical of, or drawn to, astrology, will find the The Divine Universe a revelation to savor." --Jerry Katz, editor of One: Essential Writings on Nonduality, Sentient Publications, 2007; and website host of www.nonduality.com.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mysticism and science: What do they have in common? How can one enlighten the other? By drawing on modern cosmology and ancient Kabbalah, Matt shows how science and religion can together enrich our spiritual awareness and help us recover a sense of wonder and find our place in the universe. Drawing on the insights of physics and Jewish mysticism, Daniel Matt uncovers the sense of wonder and oneness that connects us with the universe and God. He describes in understandable terms the parallels between modern cosmology and ancient Kabbalah. He shows how science and religion together can enrich our spiritual understanding. We ''embody the energy'' of the big bang, writes Matt. Furthermore, ''God is not somewhere else, hidden from us. God isright here hidden from us.'' To discover the presence of God, Matt draws on both science and theology, fact and belief, and on the truths embodied in Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity, as well as Judaism. A rich dialogue between the physical and the spiritual, God & the Big Bang takes us on a deeply personal, thoughtful and inspiring journey that helps us find our place in the universe - and the universe in ourselves.

Download or read book The Secret Behind the Universe written by C Radhakrishnan and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-07-22 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is divided into two sections. The first section is a work in physics based on the assumption of a fresh concept - 'the fabric of space', which attempts to explore the secrets of the universe behind various phenomena like matter waves, gravitation, energy in the vacuum state, spiral arms of galaxies, dark matter, Higgs boson and virtual particles which pop out of nowhere, big bang and cosmic inflation, and of course the anti-particle. The concept is discussed in a clear, simple and comprehensive manner so that even a person with only basic knowledge in physics can follow it quite easily. The fabric of space is shown to provide substrate for all physical fields including the electromagnetic field, gravitational field and Higgs field. The deep discussions are presented in popular science format, making it a pleasant read. The second section presents in-depth vedantic search in cosmology as outlined in verses from the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads. It is presented in objective fashion, avoiding any superstition and religion. A comprehensive piece of work, the discussions shed light on many previously unknown levels and aspects. Since God cannot be considered in physics due to lack of experimental evidence, this section is provided as a separate part! The first book of its kind, it brings the diverse fields of Science and Philosophy into face-to-face contact. It is a thrilling journey for all types of readers interested in science or vedanta.

Book excerpt: Bertrand Russell, despite his immense erudition, is an every man and every woman philosopher. He is clear, engaging, and readable. Although Russell did most of his early work (along with his mentor and colleague Alfred North Whitehead) in mathematics, he had an enormously wide range of interests-from politics to sex education for the young. The following two essays-Mysticism and Logic and Mathematics and the Metaphysicians-provide the reader with a glimpse into Russell's thinking and, in turn, illuminates us about these deep subjects. Even though Russell is a seasoned skeptic, he is not blind to how religious sentiments and emotions play a vital role in our day-to-day lives. This is perhaps best summarized by Russell when he writes "The metaphysical creed, I shall maintain, is a mistaken outcome of the emotion, although this emotion, as colouring and informing all other thoughts and feelings, is the inspirer of whatever is best in Man. Even the cautious and patient investigation of truth by science, which seems the very antithesis of the mystic's swift certainty, may be fostered and nourished by that very spirit of reverence in which mysticism lives and moves." Bertrand Russell remains a beacon of enlightenment for those wanting to better understand the universe through reason and logic and love.
