Their teachers talk to them as though they were retarded. Eventually they all go into the military with hopes of cleaning up and staying straight. They are in for a surprise, finding more drugs, violent, and racial tension than in the civilian world. You can see now beyond the immediate turmoil and grasp the big picture.
