Book Boot Camp for the Christian Soldier

Download or read book Boot Camp for the Christian Soldier written by H. Eugene Tapley and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-10-01 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: oot Camp for the Christian Soldier is a study course for the Christian who wants to grow. This course is designed to familiarize you with the Bible and to teach you the basics of being a Christian. This course is structured so that you can start learning with the first lesson. Each lesson stands alone; therefore you can study any lesson as preferred. The title for this course, Boot Camp for the Christian Soldier, may stir you to wonder why this title is given to this course. The reason is based on Ephesians 6:10-12, where the Bible tells us that we are in a spiritual war and we are to prepare to fight as soldiers. Before we can become skilled at spiritual warfare, we must get the basics of being a Christian warrior. In the military of any country, all the soldiers complete boot camp before being placed into advanced weapon's study and use, or before war tactics are presented. The purpose of this course is to give you, the Christian soldier, the basics and prepare you for advanced studies in all weapons and tactics available to you as a soldier of the Cross. Dr. Gene Tapley is a well-known professor, bible scholar, interim pastor and guest speaker in many churches. He has been a busy seminar leader, writer, and Christian consultant. His background in biblical teaching and seminars span more than 29 years in the Southeast United States, Australia, Brazil and New Zealand. Classes and seminars have included the following topics: prayer, the Holy Spirit, brokenness, grace, faith, discipleship, marriage, preachers and preaching, Christian ethics and church administration. His most recent work is Boot Camp for the Christian Soldier. Dr. Tapley and his wife live in Chattanooga, TN. They have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term "spiritual warfare"? I know...intercession. Sweaty, sizzling, vociferous, red hot prayer. And yes! Prayer is an absolutely necessary and effective weapon of spiritual warfare. But there's more...Warfare is more than a soldier with a gun. Warfare involves strategizing against a strategizing, conniving enemy. Warfare requires tactical operations...to know when to, how to, where to. Warfare requires stewardship of personnel, equipment and resources. Warfare demands order, obedience and accountability in the rank and files of the troops. Warfare considers the possibility of collateral damage-injuring the wrong persons, as we fight.Onward Christian Soldier-Saints widens the perspectives on spiritual warfare, enhancing your skill and strategy on the battlefield of daily living. For 21 days you will be challenged with a different insight into spiritual warfare. I assure you these ideas are not exhausted, but I hope it will open up your mind to think more critically as you reflect on biblically authentic warfare scenarios. From a career of high risk and complex logistical operations of international crude oil to the complex navigation of mental health and psychosocial issues, Laura Meyer, as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Bible teacher, has been gifted with unique insights into why believers are flailing and failing on the battlefield of life. Whether it is ignorance of the Rules of Engagement, or having the wrong people in your foxhole, or jumping the gun on ministry missions, each chapter brings you closer to wearing your spiritual armor with clarity, conviction and courage, with renewed passion to fight and WIN.

But everyone at some point during boot camp comes to the end of their own strength. It is at that point where a little encouragement makes all the difference. Resting in God’s Shadow offers encouragement specifically written for those in this especially challenging period of the military. Chaplain (Major) Jeffrey L. Brooks, U.S. Army Retired knows what he’s talking about, with 22 years of active military service. During that time, he served as chaplain at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, encouraging the men and women in boot camp to never give up on themselves or their dreams, keep a positive mental attitude, and give it their best. Since then he’s had a passion to write these encouragements into a book. This book is a collection of twelve devotionals, followed by a prayer book with spaces to record your thoughts. The devotionals in Part One correspond with the prayer book in Part Two. Concise and focused devotions fit into even the most rigorous training schedule. Whether you’re active in the military, or have a loved one headed to boot camp, this devotional is sure to provide just the right words of encouragement and Scripture.

Book excerpt: ""Your basic combat training is designed to accomplish two purposes: familiarize you with the fundamental requirements of military life, and teach you how to fight and defeat an enemy."" (Department of the Army Pamphlet, PAM 350-43, The Soldier's Basic Combat Training Handbook, March 1973, pg.7) There are many similarities between joining the army, entering boot camp and joining the Body of Christ as a new believer, growing into a soldier of the Lord. Many Christians seem to believe wearing the ""Christian uniform"" on Sundays makes them a soldier for Christ--but being a real soldier requires a lot more than just the uniform. Boot Camp - Basic Training for the Believer was written to help every believer develop into a faithful soldier and mighty warrior for God. Comparing basic training with the Christian life, the reader will discover the principles and the joy in becoming a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
