On Karell, you are either blessed by the gods, granted a unique power and the ability to gain experience and levels, or you are forgotten. Micah Silver was a boy picked for greatness. Chosen by the gods to bear a mythic power, he longed to take his place amongst the heroes and legends he grew up reading about. Unfortunately, his primary blessing only allows him to travel into the past by sacrificing his class, wealth, and levels--a psychological burden that Micah is reluctant to shoulder. But, even if Micah is unwilling, fate has a way of forcing you to face your destiny... and running away can cost you everything. Over and over again... Experience the start of a time-loop LitRPG Series where a reluctant hero is forced to fight against an impossible catastrophe. Using his talents for enchanting items and summoning creatures, he must retrace his steps and grow stronger in a potentially futile effort to prevent tragedy and protect his family.

Book excerpt: How have millions of American Christians come to measure spiritual progress in terms of their financial status and physical well-being? How has the movement variously called Word of Faith, Health and Wealth, Name It and Claim It, or simply prosperity gospel come to dominate much of our contemporary religious landscape? Kate Bowler's Blessed is the first book to fully explore the origins, unifying themes, and major figures of a burgeoning movement that now claims millions of followers in America. Bowler traces the roots of the prosperity gospel: from the touring mesmerists, metaphysical sages, pentecostal healers, business oracles, and princely prophets of the early 20th century; through mid-century positive thinkers like Norman Vincent Peale and revivalists like Oral Roberts and Kenneth Hagin; to today's hugely successful prosperity preachers. Bowler focuses on such contemporary figures as Creflo Dollar, pastor of Atlanta's 30,000-member World Changers Church International; Joel Osteen, known as "the smiling preacher," with a weekly audience of seven million; T. D. Jakes, named by Time magazine one of America's most influential new religious leaders; Joyce Meyer, evangelist and women's empowerment guru; and many others. At almost any moment, day or night, the American public can tune in to these preachers-on TV, radio, podcasts, and in their megachurches-to hear the message that God desires to bless them with wealth and health. Bowler offers an interpretive framework for scholars and general readers alike to understand the diverse expressions of Christian abundance as a cohesive movement bound by shared understandings and common goals.

Book Three Times Blessed

Download or read book Three Times Blessed written by Dieter Dubberke and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2009-08-24 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few of us, as we live our daily lives, think of eventually writing a memoir, believing probably that what we are doing, or how we are living, is not worth recording for posterity or for those around us. So it was with Dieter Dubberke, who scoffed at the idea when it was first presented to him by his wife and one or two others. Only reluctantly did he begin the project, and even then it was with the intention that it would be only for his children and their families, and maybe--just maybe--for a very few others. However as his focus sharpened, and as he remembered an increasing number of details, he began to see a greater value in recounting his life--how he had conducted himself and what he had learned, and how he came to honor and to embrace certain principles which might be worth passing on to others who could benefit from what he had seen and experienced and done. As a little boy, he and his mother dodged bullets while escaping from the easternmost part of Germany just ahead of the advancing Russians in the closing days of World War II. With his mother and brother he finally made it to the West, before the Iron Curtain would have trapped them permanently behind its impenetrable barrier. Even so, life wasn't easy there after the war, and survival was a matter of day-to-day, hand-to-mouth existence. Food was scarce, and fuel for heat during the bitter winters was something which had to be scrambled for, a few stray lumps of coal dropped in the road and fished from icy potholes with frozen hands. The lessons learned in how to survive were hard ones, the kind which were burned indelibly into him but which served him well in later years. He was blessed just to survive the war and its aftermath. However he received another stroke of that same good fortune which had followed him when he had a chance at age thirteen to come to America, where he was adopted by his maternal uncle, who had emigrated to the US years before. A whole new life opened up for him, and from the beginning he was determined to appreciate it and make the best of it. Education in an American high school and service in the US Army thoroughly Americanized him and gave him a deep and abiding love for this country and for the opportunities it offers to those who recognize them and seize them. Seize them he did. The same work ethic which helped him survive the rigors of post-war Germany was now put to use in establishing a family and building a career. He learned the retail food industry in the Safeway organization. His love of the outdoors and a rural way of life led him to the small and artsy town of Ojai, California, where he became a store manager, catering to the tastes of the creative avant-garde while never neglecting the needs of the everyday ordinary shopper. However it was when he ventured out on his own, in Mariposa, California, that he found the chance to become completely his own man and to develop to the fullest his true entrepreneurial talents and abilities. Starting with one small store, he opened a major supermarket which utilized the newest in marketing techniques and provided to the small community a much wider range of choice than it had previously known. Then came another business, and another. However simply to make this a tale of some inevitable expansion would be all too familiar and mundane. This kind of growth has remained but a part of the story of his success, one which can only be told and fully appreciated in light of his accomplishment as a person. Everything he learned in those early days of hardship and deprivation somehow gradually came together over the years to elevate both his mind and his spirit, to produce in him a broader and higher way of thinking, and a more expansive outlook. He quickly but quietly became a respected leader within his community. Clear thinking, dispassionate reasoning and the ability to rise above personal feelings all combined to make him the kind of person whom people sought

Book excerpt: Find comfort in dark times and grow your trust and faith in God with this inspiring and insightful guide from Lakewood Church pastor and #1 New York Times bestselling author Joel Osteen. All of us will go through dark times that we don't understand: a difficulty with a friend, an unfair situation at work, a financial setback, an unexpected illness, a divorce, or the loss of a loved one. Those types of experiences are part of the human journey. But when we find ourselves in such a place, it's important that we keep a positive perspective. Joel Osteen writes that if we stay in faith and keep a good attitude when we go through challenges, we will not only grow, but we will see how all things work together for our good. Through practical applications and scriptural insight, Blessed in the Darkness focuses on how to draw closer to God and trust Him when life doesn't make sense. If we will go through the dark place in the valley trusting, believing, and knowing that God is still in control, we will come to the table that is already prepared for us, where our cup runs over.

While the church officially recognizes a relatively small number of saints, the actual roster is infinitely wider. Blessed Among Us explores this eclectic “cloud of witnesses”—lay and religious, single and married, canonized and not, and even non-Christians whose faith and wisdom may illuminate our path. Brought to life in the evocative storytelling of Robert Ellsberg, they inspire the moral imagination and give witness to the myriad ways of holiness. In two stories per day for a full calendar year, Ellsberg sketches figures from biblical times to the present age and from all corners of this world—ordinary figures whose extraordinary lives point to the new age in the world to come. Book excerpt: A little nod to those of us who are still feeling slightly half-baked: those with struggling families, cracked relationships, and a world that’s showing a little wear around the seams. When God wants to create the remarkable, He chooses to work with the less-than-perfect. Genesis is a book of beginnings. It is deeply concerned with the origins of things—of the universe, of humankind, of relationships, of sin, of civilization, of families, and of one special family created and chosen by God to be the instrument through which He would bless the world. That family is our family, yours and mine. Like all good family stories, it starts with not just a something or somewhere, but a someone. Part memoir, part biblical inspiration story, Broken & Blessed is about how change begins when one person decides to believe God’s promises and how that makes a change in a family, like ripples on water.

Book How Can She Be BLESSED CURSED At the Same Time

Download or read book How Can She Be BLESSED CURSED At the Same Time written by Peyton Washington and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-10-10 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book release was essential at the present time because many of us are unaware of how easily we can create idols; whether it is our spouse, child, or people in positions of authority simply by attempting to fill the void left by what happened in most cases in our childhood environments. We do not want to slow down our lives, particularly in African American communities, to seek spiritual counsel from someone who genuinely cares about our souls being delivered and set free. Specifically, from the very sins taught to us as children. However, if we go all the way back to our roots to discover who we truly are and why it is so difficult to stray away from such sins as idolatry, we will discover the answers to the things to which we are bound. I hope one ask themselves, "Who am I truly"?
