Download or read book Blessed Elizabeth Canori Mora written by Mary Herbert and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-04-27 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Elizabeth Canori Mora was born in 1774, in Rome. Raised in a devout but poor household, she was given an excellent education by religious sisters. Her life changed dramatically when she was married to Christopher Mora, a local lawyer and son of a famous doctor. The marriage began happy but turned sour as her husband changed from becoming possessive of her to the point of preventing her communication with her relatives, to abandoning her and taking up a mistress. Yet Elizabeth turned to God and prayed for his conversion, taking solace in her two surviving daughters and raising them in the faith. The story of Elizabeth Canori Mora is one both familiar, and unique. The story of a wronged wife, celebrated on her wedding day but whom we ought rather to mourn for if we could foresee the great sufferings she will undergo in wedlock; and unique in that her heroic virtue, fidelity and love excels that of so many that end up in this all too familiar state. For her fidelity and love of Christ, Elizabeth received many revelations from God, and merited that her husband would turn from his wicked ways and become again devout-to the point that after her death he became a Franciscan cleric. In this work, you will discover what you rarely see in so many lives of monks, abbots and missionaries, a married saint, a wife who should be the patron of wronged and long-suffering wives. The reprinted work of Mary Elizabeth Herbert has been revised for modern English and has pictures added for the benefit of the reader, with new typesetting in an easy to read font.

Book Married Saints and Blesseds

Download or read book Married Saints and Blesseds written by Ferdinand Holbock and published by Ignatius Press. This book was released on 2017-06-21 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Countless saints have been priests or religious, living out lives of penance and sacrifice for the good of the Church. But many Catholics don't realize that married couples are called to holiness as well. Fr. Holböck's tells the inspiring stories of over 200 married saints and blesseds from the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph to Margaret of Scotland, King Louis of France, Thomas More, and modern examples like Gianna Molla and Louis and Zélie Martin, parents of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. The example of these holy men and women is essential to living a truly Catholic married life. Important Church documents and scripture passages are also included to further guide and enlighten the reader. Many illustrations.

Book Revelation Mystical Phenomena and Divine Promises

Download or read book Revelation Mystical Phenomena and Divine Promises written by Deacon Albert Graham and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2022-10-05 with total page 754 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The reader will be appraised of how God has been speaking to His people through public and private revelation for over 2000 years. A special chapter in this work deals with some saints and holy people who have had private revelations about or visits from souls in purgatory, hell or heaven. Another chapter and several of the appendixes are devoted to Marian Apparitions to include those that are approved, not approved and those appending a decision by the Church. By far one of the greatest strengths of this undertaking is the identification of some 43 categories of concomitant extraordinary phenomena and some of the saints and holy people who have experienced them. Color paintings by artists are depicted of some saints experiencing such mystical phenomena. Another unique feature of the book is a listing of some 600 individuals from the 13th to the 21st centuries who bore the stigmata. By knowing that God is present and alive to His people this book may help bring others to a deeper faith in God.

Book Wife Mother and Mystic

Download or read book Wife Mother and Mystic written by Albert Bessières and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "When people come to examine your conduct closely, every individual must be able to convince himself that it is possible to serve God in all states and conditions of life without the performance of great exterior penances, provided only one fight vigorously against one's passions and conforms oneself in all things to the holy will of God." These words of Our Lady to Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi convey the fundamental import of this book. Wife, Mother and Mystic is the story of Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi, a woman singled out at the age of twenty-one, to receive revelations from Our Lord and the Blessed Mother, which continued until her death. Despite these miraculous gifts, she was content to fulfill her station in life as a wife, and mother of seven children. Though her spiritual wisdom was sought after by the most prominent figures, she sought first to expiate the sins of her fellow men by performing her domestic duties with the utmost love and sacrifice. Wife, Mother and Mystic chronicles the events of an extraordinary life and yet, the great lesson of this biography is not found in the extraordinary, but in this modest woman's constant, hidden striving after holiness in her most ordinary tasks.

Excerpt: ... easily understand that after such precious favours, Elizabeth should become indefatigable, as it were, in showing to the Blessed Virgin her devotion and her love. Every day she recited, as a double tribute, the Rosary and the Little Office. She inculcated in her daughters the same habit, and they made these prayers together. She incessantly invoked her by ejaculatory prayers burning with love. On the Eves of her Feasts she fasted rigorously on bread and water. She sanctified the Novenas and Octaves by numberless mortifications and frequent penances. She then said with her daughters the following prayer: "I rejoice with you, O Blessed Virgin Mary, for the remarkable honour which Our Lord has bestowed upon you in this mystery" (for example, of the Assumption, the Annunciation, etc.). "I return most hearty thanks to the Blessed Trinity, and I unite my gratitude to that of the blessed souls in Paradise." She added five times the Gloria Pain, inclining her head each time, and then kissing the ground. She repeated this prayer ten times. Elizabeth had also a tender devotion to S. Michael, and received great favours from him. On one of his Feasts she had the happiness to be transported in spirit into the regions of Glory. She saw the illustrious rank which he occupied near the throne of the Blessed Trinity, and she was a witness of the homage paid him by the whole host of Heaven. Once she perceived her Guardian Angel among the Heavenly Spirits. He surpassed all the others in beauty and in glory, for he was one of those whose place was nearest to the throne of the Divine Majesty. She diligently applied herself to honour S. Joseph, the glorious Spouse of the Blessed Virgin, and S. John the Baptist, the Divine Precursor. She once made the exercises...

Book excerpt: Shortly after Vatican II many began to speculate that we might be in the 'end times' and that prophecies were being fulfilled. Some speculated that the Three Days of Darkness may be near or that Antichrist was already on earth. Yves DUpont assembled many prophecies, including some that refer to a comet striking the earth. With Comet Kahoutek in 1972, many thought this might be the one, but it wasn't. With the deterioration of morals in the world many believe that these prophetic days may be close.

Download or read book The Crown of Sanctity written by Daniel O'Connor and published by Daniel O'Connor. This book was released on 2019-03-04 with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2,000 years ago, the Son of God prayed to His Father, “Thy Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” This prayer, the greatest ever uttered by the lips of man, will not go unanswered. Jesus has revealed to an Italian mystic named Luisa that the time has now at last arrived for its fulfillment; that is, for the restoration of what was destroyed by Adam 6,000 years ago in the Fall of Man. In brief: the entire world is about to be radically transformed like never before in its history. This is probably something you should know about. This book has been written to inform you about the transformation and to enable you to take part in it and hasten it. But this transformation will not be achieved through human effort. It will be given directly from Heaven by way of God's greatest Gift: the Gift of Living in the Divine Will, which is the Crown of Sanctity, and which even now we must all strive to receive. In this sanctity is found The Culmination of Deification, the Fruitfulness of Mystical Marriage, the Aspiration of the Unification of Wills, and the Essence of Marian Consecration. This is none other than the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary promised at Fatima. It is the coming of the Kingdom of God. This is a long book, but its length should turn away no one, as a thorough and detailed table of contents is given so that each reader can easily select only those sections in which he is interested for his perusal. And any reader is sure to find much that interests him. Within these pages is a treasury of resources; not only concerning Luisa's revelations directly, but also on new arguments for God's existence and the truth of Christianity, extensive Catechesis on Private Revelation in general and on the spiritual life in general (including overviews of the greatest teachings on spirituality in the history of the Church), and details on the Era of Peace as revealed to Luisa and many other mystics, visionaries, and seers (Fatima, Medjugorje, Venerable Conchita, Fr. Gobbi, and dozens more). You will not regret reading this book. This is our great hope and our petition: "Your Kingdom come" - a kingdom of peace, justice, and serenity, that will re-establish the original harmony of creation. – Pope St. John Paul II
