Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series Advances in Stem Cell Biology is a timely and expansive collection of comprehensive information and new discoveries in the field of stem cell biology. iPSCs for Studying Infectious Diseases, Volume 8 addresses how important induced pluripotent stems cells are and how can they can help treat certain infectious diseases. Somatic cells can be reprogrammed into induced pluripotent stem cells by the expression of specific transcription factors. These cells have been transforming biomedical research over the last 15 years. This volume will address the advances in research of how induced pluripotent stem cells are being used for treatment of different infectious diseases, such as corona virus, coxsackievirus, salmonella infection, influenza virus and much more. The volume is written for researchers and scientists in stem cell therapy, cell biology, regenerative medicine and organ transplantation; and is contributed by world-renowned authors in the field. - Provides overview of the fast-moving field of stem cell biology and function, regenerative medicine, and therapeutics - Covers infections by several pathogens, such as coronavirus, coxsackievirus, influenza virus, herpes simplex virus 1, T. gondii, T. cruzi, S. agalactiae, N. meningitidis, Salmonella, and more - Is contributed by world-renowned experts in the field

Download or read book New Research on Cutaneous Lymphomas written by Angel Fernandez-Flores and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2006-09 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cutaneous lymphoid infiltrates which are suspicious for lymphoma, are always important challenges for the general pathologist who faces them occasionally. Many times they are also difficult even for the dermatopathologist, and the most modern diagnostic weapons sometimes play a crucial role in the differential diagnosis with other non-malignant entities, as well as between the different types of lymphomas. Clinically, they sometimes simulate many other conditions, and are not always easy to be recognise by the dermatologist. In 2005, a new classification of cutaneous lymphomas was published, in an attempt to achieve a better comprehension of the nature and behaviour of these tumours. Nevertheless, many new aspects of pathogenesis, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, are constantly appearing in medical literature. This current book is an attempt to present to the reader, the field of cutaneous lymphomas in a way that can be useful in daily practice, either as a general surgical pathologist, a dermatologist, or a dermatopathologist. At the same time, the reader will find updated information which will probably be very helpful in order to face confidently most of the difficult clinical and histopathologic cases. The book goes through most of the cutaneous lymphomas in systematic order, either B-cell, T-cell, or Hodgkin type, presenting the clinical, and morphological aspects, which include many of the most recent molecular contributions. Many of the chapters also provide a therapeutic approach.

Download or read book Collector s Guide to Fort Payne Crinoids and Blastoids written by William W. Morgan and published by Indiana University Press. This book was released on 2021-11-19 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collector's Guide to Fort Payne Crinoids and Blastoids is the first comprehensive guide for identifying the fossils of echinoderms from hundreds of millions of years ago, when North America was covered by a warm, equatorial sea. Crinoids and blastoids, echinoderms (the same family of marine animals to include starfish, sea urchins, and sand dollars) from the Fort Payne Formation in Kentucky, are rarely seen at gem, mineral, and fossil shows, nor are they regularly displayed at major museums. By combining high-quality color photographs and an accompanying descriptive text, William W. Morgan provides the first comprehensive identification guide to these fascinating fossils. Collector's Guide to Fort Payne Crinoids and Blastoids features photographs, often offering more than one view, of the best-quality specimens curated in the Smithsonian and other prominent invertebrate fossil museums. Morgan includes photographs that are unlabeled so that readers can test themselves to see whether they can differentiate some of the more subtle features that may be necessary for accurate identification.
Download or read book Flow Cytometry Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Genetics for Hematologic Neoplasms written by Tsieh Sun and published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. This book was released on 2012-01-19 with total page 449 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Immunophenotyping is the most powerful tool in the routine diagnosis of hematologic neoplasms. Immunohistochemical technique is used in histology labs for this purpose, while flow cytometry is used in clinical labs. Although separately these 2 techniques are very useful in detecting lymphomas and leukemias, the combination of both creates a very powerful and definitive diagnostic tool. The addition of molecular genetics to the book makes it an all-encompassing reference text.
