This book was released on 2023-05-28 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Curiosity about the lives of eminent persons pushed him to study of biography writing. To gain mastery over the English language he recited the the thick volume of Webster's Dictionary. Started writing with nickname Dhananjay for weeklies. His first complete biographical work on the life of V.D. Savarkar earned to him reputation as a best biographer and was compared to the high standard of James Boswell. Following this he wrote English biographies of Dr. B. R.Ambedkar, Tilak, Jotirao Phooley, Shahu and Mahatma Gandhi. He too separately wrote in Marathi on lives of Ambedkar. Phooley, Shahu and labour leader S. K. Bole. His other works include the life sketches of eminent Indians. Thinkers have attributed to him as to be an erudite scholar of contemporary history of India with special context to Maharashtra. His ability of writing in both English and Marathi languages with equal ease and skill brought to him a fame as 'Dhananjay - the ambidexter." Here is the inspiring story of this great biographer... BIOGRAPHER DHANANAJAY KEER ......... Mr. Rajendraprasad S. Masurkar has written this biography....

Book Veer Savarkar

Download or read book Veer Savarkar written by Dhananjay Keer and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 640 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SWATANTRYAVEER SAVARKAR needs no introduction to the Indian public, neither does his biography. Long ago, Asaf Ali described Savarkar as the spirit of Shivaji and the late Srinivas Sastri said of him that"" he was a great and fearless patriot and volumes could be written about his yeoman services in the cause of Indian Freedom"". This is, however, too small a volume to describe that spirit and those services adequately. Savarkar's life has already appeared in almost all Indian languages, and in his twenties it has appeared in almost all European languages. But excepting the great Marathi bio-graphy by S. L. Karandikar, who wrote it about seven years ago, no book has dealt exhaustively with the various facets of his life. Hence this is a humble attempt to give in detail the my riad sides of Savarkar's life in its proper historic perspective. This book provides a fuller survey of Savarkar's revolutionary, literary, political and social activities and movements. It also deals with his personal life, and covers his life upto the present moment. I have made a faithful attempt to present a true and correct picture of the various events and incidents that occurred in the life of Savarkar, and also the trends of thoughts and opinions entertained in those times. Most of them do not necessarily reflect my personal views. But they are narrated to record matters of mere history. To quote Sir Edmund Gosse, I have attempted ' to give a faithful portrait of a soul in its adventures through life'. Savarkar's life is romantic, epic and volcanic and so it is full of flashes and flames. Bharat has just shed her revolutionary shell, and entered an evolutionary phase. And a revolutionary realist as he is, Savarkar now in Free India naturally insists on the adoption of peaceful, constitutional and democratic means by the people for attaining their objectives. This was only a logical corollary to Savarkar's ideal as proclaimed in his historic work on ' 1857 '. My earnest appeal, therefore, to all lovers of Indian Freedom and true democracy is that they should go through this book

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born into a middle-class, Sarasvat Brahmin family, Dr Sharada Kabir met and got to know Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar as a patient riddled with life-threatening diseases, and eventually married him on 15 April 1948, getting rechristened as Savita Ambedkar. From the day of their wedding to the death of Dr Ambedkar on 6 December 1956, she aided him in some of his greatest achievements-drafting the Constitution of India, framing the Hindu Code Bill, writing some of his most celebrated books, including The Buddha and His Dhamma, and leading millions of Dalits into Buddhism. Following his death, she was hounded into obscurity by some of Dr Ambedkar's followers, who saw her as a threat to their political ambitions. She re-emerged into public life in 1970 and got back to working on the mission to which her husband had devoted his life-the welfare of the Dalit community. Her autobiography, Dr Ambedkaraanchya Sahavaasaat, was first published in Marathi in 1990. This English translation by Nadeem Khan unearths a much valuable and forgotten account, an intimate portrait of one of the greatest figures of the twentieth century. A tenacious fighter, an outstanding scholar and an iconic leader, Dr B.R. Ambedkar was all that and more. Savita Ambedkar brings alive a different side of her husband: a man who wrote romantic letters, dictated what she should wear, whipped up delicious mutton curry, played the violin, and even tried his hand at sculpting. This is a book that humanizes Ambedkar as no other book has done yet.

Book excerpt: The Childhood of Ambedkar offer an intimate look into the formative years of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, one of modern India’s most influential figures and the chief architect of its Constitution. This book chronicles Ambedkar’s early life, from his birth in a small village to his pursuit of education despite overwhelming societal barriers. Readers will gain profoun insights into the challenges he faced, the resilience he demonstrated, and the seeds of his future activism that took root during his childhood. Drawing from Ambedkar’s own writings and first-hand accounts, the narrative brings to life the harsh realities of untouchability, the kindling of his thirst for knowledge and the support of allies like the progressive Maharaja Sayajirao III of Baroda. Readers will not only understand the man behind the Constitution but also gain a deeper appreciation for the on-going battle against prejudice and injustice in India and beyond.

Download or read book B R Ambedkar written by Shashi Tharoor and published by Manchester University Press. This book was released on 2023-05-02 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A household name throughout India, B. R. Ambedkar is one of the country’s most important figures, second only to Mahatma Gandhi. He played a major role in drafting the constitution for a newly independent India and led the fight against caste-based discrimination. Ambedkar was born into a Dalit caste (the so-called ‘untouchables’), but his academic brilliance saw him study at Columbia University and London School of Economics. As a politician, he fought to overturn centuries of discrimination and promoted liberal constitutionalism in a traditionally illiberal society. He did more than anyone to articulate a cogent and enduring case for the principles of democracy in a country emerging from imperial rule. This book is also a reminder of how far the practice of politics has strayed from the high standards Ambedkar set – of intellectual distinction, policy positions animated by serious scholarship, the infusion of moral values and the upholding of democracy for the many, not just the privileged few.

Now, we are very happy to publish it's English translation by Mr. Rajendraprasad Masurkar. ........ ...... Download or read book Hitler And India written by Vaibhav Purandare and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2022-08-18 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hitler's autobiography, Mein Kampf, is a perennial bestseller in India, with even street-side bookstalls prominently displaying stacks of it. The name 'Hitler' -- anathema almost everywhere else in the world -- is tossed about casually in the Indian subcontinent, not infrequently invoked in praise. Many Indians still harbour the notion that the Fuhrer was a friend of the Indian people and had extended wholehearted support to their freedom struggle. To journalist Vaibhav Purandare, this clearly suggested that Indians continued to be largely unaware of the German dictator's views on India, in spite of the fact that they are unambiguously expressed in his own writings. This lacuna spurred him on to delve into the archives -- in Germany, India and elsewhere. The result of Purandare's research is this comprehensive and painstaking portrait and analysis of Hitler's outlook on India and its people, his opinion of their struggle against the British Raj, and his take on Indian history, culture and civilisation. Also within these pages are surprising details of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's entanglement with the Reich, the experience of other Indians living in Nazi Germany, the mission that Hitler sent to the Himalayas in search of 'pure-blood Aryans', and a number of other little-known historical nuggets. Accessible and rich in detail, Hitler and India is the very first examination of what India meant to a figure who, perplexingly, remains quite alive in the country.

Book MAHATMA JYOTIRAO PHULE english

Download or read book MAHATMA JYOTIRAO PHULE english written by Dr. Ravindra Thakur Translated From MARATHI to ENGLISH by Reshma Kulkarni-Pathare and published by MEHTA PUBLISHING HOUSE. This book was released on 2020-02-17 with total page 514 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "….. It is a very difficult task to write a biographical novel. In order to ensure the right balance of facts with creative liberty, the author needs to have the skills of a good biographer, as well as, a novelist. A biographer is a researcher and collector of memories; whereas, a novelist is mainly a dreamer who can spin stories out of nothingness. But, the author of a biographical novel needs to be an amalgamation of both, creativity and fact-finding, both. S/he needs to diligently record all the facts related to the protagonist's life. Even though s/he may take creative liberty while writing the novel, it cannot be forgotten that finally it is a 'biography', which must do justice to the happenings in the protagonist's life. Dates, timelines, family members, enemies, relations, important incidents etc., need to be mentioned properly, without taking them into the ambit of creative liberty. Only after doing so much preparation does a novelist become set to write a good biographical novel. What prompts a biographer to turn a person's life account into a novel, instead of taking the easy route and narrating his/her story in a straight way? It is the excitement of interspersing an author's gift of imagination and ingenuity with the actualities of the protagonist's life. However, it is a tightrope walk to be able to exercise one's creative abilities, while staying true to the researcher within. Only the perfect alchemy of both these factors can result in an excellent biographical novel." – M.W. Dhond An inspirational biographical novel about the life, times, personality, and revolutionary thoughts of the great man, Jyotirao Phule: 'MAHATMA'
