Book De taalhacker

Download or read book De taalhacker written by Wyner, Gabriel and published by Maven Publishing. This book was released on 2015-04-07 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Compact Cities and Sustainable Urban Development

Download or read book Compact Cities and Sustainable Urban Development written by Gert de Roo and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-05-24 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title was first published in 2000. Encouraging, even requiring, higher density urban development is a major policy in the European Community and of Agenda 21, and a central principle of growth management programmes used by cities around the world. This work takes a critical look at a number of claims made by proponents of this initiative, seeking to answer whether indeed this strategy controls the spread of urban suburbs into open lands, is acceptable to residents, reduces trip lengths and encourages use of public transit, improves efficiency in providing urban infrastructure and services, and results in environmental improvements supporting higher quality of life in cities.

Book Policies and Plans for Rural People Routledge Revivals

Download or read book Policies and Plans for Rural People Routledge Revivals written by Paul Cloke and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-10-18 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited collection, first published in 1988, was the first title to bring international perspectives into the field of rural planning. Using a comparative approach and a broad range of case studies, including Britain, Scandinavia, the U.S.S.R. and New Zealand, the authors review the major problems faced within rural areas, and policy responses to these problems. Each study deals with the political and institutional frameworks involved in the management of rural areas and the means by which policies have been implemented. With an introduction from Paul Cloke that places rural policies and plans within the context of the state, this reissue will be of great value to any students with an interest in the planning and organisation of rural communities across the world.

Book Mass Theatre in Interwar Europe

Download or read book Mass Theatre in Interwar Europe written by Thomas Crombez and published by Leuven University Press. This book was released on 2014-06-24 with total page 785 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ideological heterogeneity in mass plays in Flanders and the Netherlands In many European countries mass theatre was a widespread expression of ‘community art’ which became increasingly popular shortly before the First World War. From Max Reinhardt’s lavish open-air spectacles to socialist workers’ Laienspiel (lay theatre), theatre visionaries focused on ever larger groups for entertainment as well as political agitation. Despite wide research on the Soviet and German cases, examples from the Low Countries have hardly been examined. However, mass plays in Flanders and the Netherlands had a distinctive character, displaying an ideological heterogeneity not seen elsewhere. Mass Theatre in Interwar Europe studies this peculiar phenomenon of the Low Countries in its European context and sheds light on the broader framework of mass movements in the interwar period.
