Based on my niece's enthusiasm for Billie, it seems like she's very good at making pop songs younger people enjoy. There are people judging Billie based on her technical ability. To them, the perceived difficulty of singing a Billie song is a mark against her. Frankly, I think that's a piss-poor way to evaluate music. Billie isn't trying and failing to show off her chops the way a singer like Mariah Carey would. Whether or not Billie is as technically able as Carey is irrelevant. Billie's songs are easy enough to play that fans can and will cover them. Here's a 19-minute compilation of Billie's fans covering her songs while Billie herself reacts to the covers. Billie herself is wise enough to appreciate that fans want to cover her songs. The fact that so many people want to cover Billie's songs suggests that she and her brother Finneas are a great songwriting team.
