Demnach soll das Verständnis von Gerechtigkeit im Bildungssystem einem aktuellen Vergleich von verschiedenen Autoren unterzogen werden. Diese Seminararbeit fokussiert sich besonders auf die Autoren und deren Bücher Dietlind Fischer und Volker Elsenbast – „Zur Gerechtigkeit im Bildungssystem“ und auf den Autor Eberhard Reich – „Schule und Gerechtigkeit“. Demzufolge lautet die konkrete Fragestellung: Wie wird Gerechtigkeit (und das Verständnis von Gerechtigkeit) im Bildungssystem erziehungswissenschaftlich diskutiert und thematisiert – exemplarisch dargestellt anhand zweier Bücher von Dietlind Fischer & Volker Elsenbast (2007) und Eberhard Reich (2008)? Im ersten Kapitel werden die Begriffe Bildung, Bildungsungleichheiten und Gerechtigkeit/Chancengleichheit allgemein aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven behandelt, um zunächst eine theoretische Grundlage zu bilden. Am Ende des ersten Kapitels erfolgt eine kleine Zusammenfassung, um einen kurzen Überblick zu schaffen. Im zweiten Kapitel werden zunächst die Aspekte bei Fischer und Elsenbast (2007) und Reich (2008) in Bezug, wie Gerechtigkeit im Bildungssystem verstanden wird, erläutert. Im dritten Kapitel gilt es, die Begriffe aus dem ersten Kapitel und die Verständnisse von Gerechtigkeit von verschiedenen Autoren, die im zweiten Kapitel herausgearbeitet wurden, miteinander zu diskutieren. In einem abschließenden vierten Kapitel, dem Resümee, werden schließlich die zentralsten Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit nochmals aufgegriffen.

Yet theorizing and model building about this most ubiquitous of human activities from international perspectives have not been vigorous. An examination of the literature pertaining to career development, counseling and guidance that has developed over the last fifty years reveals theorizing and model building have been largely dominated by Western epistemologies, some of the largest workforces in the world are in the developing world. Career guidance is rapidly emerging as a strongly felt need in these contexts. If more relevant models are to be developed, frameworks from other cultures and economies must be recognized as providing constructs that would offer a deeper understanding of career development. This does not mean that existing ideas are to be discarded. Instead, an integrative approach that blends universal principles with particular needs could offer a framework for theorizing, research and practice that has wider relevance. The central objective of this handbook is to draw the wisdom and experiences of different cultures together to consider both universal and specific principles for career guidance and counseling that are socially and economically relevant to contemporary challenges and issues. This book is focused on extending existing concepts to broader contexts as well as introducing new concepts relevant to the discipline of career guidance and counseling.

Dieses Ziel hat Deutschland aber noch nicht erreicht. Das Bildungssystem in Deutschland weist, das zeigen mehrere Studien auf, in Bezug auf Bildungsgerechtigkeit größere Mängel auf. Hier wird ersichtlich, dass ein großer Zusammenhang zwischen Leistungskompetenz und sozialer Herkunft besteht und Deutschland noch weit davon entfernt ist, sich mit Chancengleichheit in Bezug auf Bildung zu rühmen, obwohl soziale Gerechtigkeit und Chancengleichheit Werte sind, die in Deutschland durchaus von Bedeutung sein sollten. Doch welche Ungerechtigkeiten bestehen im Hinblick auf soziale Herkunft tatsächlich im deutschen Schulsystem und wie kann Soziale Arbeit, bzw. hier konkreter Schulsozialarbeit, dies versuchen auszugleichen? Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit dieser Problematik. Dazu werden zunächst einige relevante Begriffe definiert, um darauffolgend die bestehenden Ursachen sozialer Bildungsungleichheiten aufzuzeigen. Die theoretischen Ansätze zur Erklärung der herkunftsspezifischen Ungleichheiten werden anhand der Ansätze von Pierre Bourdieu und Raymond Boudon dargestellt, um die bereits erläuterten Aussagen zu den Ursachen der Bildungsbenachteiligung zu erklären. Darauffolgend geht es dann um die Folgerungen der Schulsozialarbeit auf die vorhergehenden Erkenntnisse und was Schulsozialarbeit zur Minderung der herkunftsspezifischen Benachteiligung im Bereich Bildung tun kann.
