Her ne kadar kariyerime denetim şirketinde (PwC) başlamış olsam da fiilen “denetçilik” yapmadığım için Uluslararası Denetim Standartları ve Bağımsız Denetim Standartları konusunda eksiklerim olması sebebiyle çalışmaya öncelikle standartların güncel versiyonlarını okuyarak başladım. Ardından sorular çözerek eksiklerimi gördüm. Bu konuları adeta tekrar cilalar gibi yeniden gözden geçirip sınava yönelik ek notlar da aldım. Adeta bir DVD filmin bonus içeriği gibi kitaba bu ekstra notlarımı da ekledim. Böylece zengin ve sınav kazandıran bir içerikle hem öğrenmek hem de sınavda başarılı olmak isteyen herkesin faydasına olacak bu kitap ortaya çıktı. Ortaya benim “oldukça tatmin edici” diye nitelendirebileceğim, özellikle KGK’nın Bağımsız Denetçilik sınavı ile Serbest Muhasebeci ve Mali Müşavirlik (SMMM) Staj Başlatma sınavına hazırlananların faydalanabileceği bir kaynak ortaya çıktı.
